Good things: 1) Nice outdoor area by the pool 2) Nice and panoramic view of the city and 3) Kind personnel working in the pool Bad things: 1) Paid 100 euros more for an exceptional room with panoramic view . The room had the view BUT: The room was situated in floor -1 . The expensive room was half the size of a cheaper room! The cheaper rooms were in floor 2!!!So i paid 100 euros more for a much worst romom 2) The size of the room was really small and unconveninet, -no place to set your luggage and imagine I was alone. It should be a nightmare for 2 people 3) No Greek TV channel; only German; I told them that greek TV channels were not available and they told me they will look at it; They never did 4) extremely low quality internet; almost non operational, there were times I could not browse my mails ;again refering to the floor where my 'panoramic view' romm was located 5) The linen had a smell from clothes that wree left in the laundry and not dried properly; really terrible 6) Breakfast was terrible; Really the worst breakfast I ever seen; This is in contrast to the exceptional philoxenia and quality all over the city of Rethymno; great paraphony 7) Impersonal personell at reception; very impersonal 8) Noise; Huge noise in the -1 floor; not sure on the rest 9) No mosquito blockers on the windows; No anti-mosquito devices 10) Worst coffee I ever had on a greek hotel General: Very poor management of a property with a huge potential; Suggestion: You cannot ask people pay more for worst rooms; rooms pay less. Fix all the above as they are easy to fix; especially 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 points is really an easy fix ;

We stayed here after a bad experience with an air bnb so booked this the night before. Great value and lovely hotel. The man who checked us in was very friendly and gave us an excellent recommendation for a local resultant which serves delicious authentic Cretan food in humungous servings. The hotel itself was lovely and clean and had a lovely little balcony looking out into the pine forest. We had two single beds which were close but This was fine. Shower had great pressure and temperature. Little strange is the bathroom which is just a green glass wall which you can’t see through but when the light is on you can see the other persons silhouette. There is free onsite open air parking which was a godsend after fighting for parking in Chania. There’s a lovely pool area which has ocean views but we did not use this. Overall excellent hotel with all the basics and lovely staff.

The hotel was very cute and comfortable. The man at the reception was very friendly and I loved the big balcony overlooking the forest. I enjoyed the pool and the sitting area where you can enjoy the olive trees and hear cicadas. The breakfast was pretty good too, but I would have added in some scrambled eggs without any meat etc. the lady at the breakfast was also a bit rude, as I think she was upset we came down so early, however, I asked reception if this was okay as we had an early flight to catch and they confirmed it was fine.

Very good 2-week family stay at the Forest Park Hotel. Rooms apart from the main building: clean, comfortable and quiet. Located on the heights of the city, the view is superb and it is quiet. We walk down to the old town quite quickly. Obviously the climb takes longer... But that wasn't a problem. The swimming pool was very pleasant and the deckchairs were very comfortable. The adjoining snack bar is very good. The breakfast is sufficient and we found the dinner very good (the children always found a dish to their liking). In August, the clientele was made up of many couples and a few families, mainly German. The staff was very friendly and professional (special mention for the young people who take care of the restaurant in the evening!). The hotel matched the descriptions we had seen and even exceeded our expectations. The value for money was very good. We are very satisfied with our stay.

We rented a suite in Forest Park for 12 nights in June 2022. The suites are not in the main building, but in an annex to the side. The suite consists of a living room, bedroom, bathroom and 2 balconies. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and a hypermodern shower, which was technically overwhelming for us at first. Everything was sparkling clean and cleaned and garbage was disposed of daily. A bottle of mineral water and several portion packets of Nescafe are ready in the living room upon arrival. The coffee is refilled daily. Of course, there is also a kettle, cups, spoons, coffee cream and sugar. A small refrigerator (with freezer compartment) is also part of the equipment. Both balconies are on the side of the building. So you can see the sea, but you can't enjoy the magnificent view of the city from here. The swimming pool is okay, but nothing special. The whirlpool integrated in the large pool can only be used for an extra fee. At 6 euros, it's not exactly a small thing either. I didn't see anyone in the whirlpool once during my entire stay. We found that very strange. The food was perfectly fine for our needs, but nothing revelatory. However, we did find the meal times a little inconvenient. Breakfast in particular was only available from 8 a.m. If you are planning excursions, that is usually too late. We asked for an "early breakfast" four times the day before. But that was a huge disappointment. There was only white bread and jam, nothing else. No sausage, no cheese, no fruit, no vegetables. There wasn't even milk for cereal. That is absolutely the lowest of the low. After all, you paid a fair bit for the food. Dinner was also extremely late at 7:15 p.m. There are three ways to get to the hotel, which is located very high above the city. Either on foot, which is a bit of a sporting challenge to walk up the hill every day, 2. you rent a car and then pay the parking fee in the city every time (parking in front of the hotel is of course free), or you take a taxi, which costs 5 euros from the old town to the hotel. The employees in the lobby always seemed a bit grumpy to me. There was hardly any warmth or friendliness to be found there. The young men who provided service in the restaurant, at the bar and at the pool bar were completely different. Extremely quick and careful and above all always nice, friendly and friendly. Thumbs up for these employees. Overall, we were very happy with the Forest Park. Apart from the points of criticism listed here, we had no complaints. And these are also secondary evaluation criteria. We probably wouldn't book again. But that is only due to the inconveniently long and steep distance from the city center.
