"Great experience! The service at the hotel is impressive. The warm and attentive staff, comfortable and spacious rooms, and delicious dining options all made my stay extremely enjoyable. "On the edge of Reykjavik's pier, this location is very close to the Aurora Center Art Center. There are many restaurants nearby, and it is close to the business center for shopping. However, it may be difficult to find a parking space in the hotel, so I parked on the roadside at the front entrance. The room quality is good, but there is construction in the square outside the window. Although there is no noise, our room type does not have a view. The photo is of the nearby Piggy Supermarket area."
"The room was very small with only two 0.8-meter beds. We checked out after entering the room but did not check in because the room type was not what we booked and the hotel did not have it. Later, Ctrip's customer service Baichuan helped us change to a new hotel. Thanks to Ctrip's customer service Baichuan, we have experienced the high-quality service of a large company in cold Iceland. Ctrip is still reliable when you are away from home!"
"The hotel is very close to Station 9, about 7 minutes' walk. There are many delicious food on the street and it is very lively and prosperous. The room is medium in size and very cozy. The facilities are relatively complete. The hotel has a gym with a small sauna and three shower rooms, suitable for taking a shower after working out."
"**Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommend!**
From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay.
The location was perfect, close to
everything making it easy to explore the area. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options each morning.
What stood out the most was the attention to detail and the genuine care from the staff. It truly felt like a home away from home. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!"
"I traveled to Iceland and chose this hotel for a total of three nights. This is the first night(8.6),Everything else in the hotel is very good. The only terrible thing is that for the room on my left, I can clearly hear their phone calls. For the room on my right, I can clearly hear them coughing and talking, which is very clear in the middle of the night. I doubt whether every room can hear the sound like this, so I will consider whether it is useful to propose to change the room."
"Always nice and clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not so many travelers during my stay, so no waiting for the shower rooms. Perfect for the price."
"A very good experience, the hotel has a sense of design, is exquisite and clean. The front desk staff are very welcoming and friendly. In particular, the Chinese lady at the front desk was patient and polite, spoke Mandarin very well, and helped us solve many problems. I would like to express my special thanks to her. The bedding is also very comfortable. It can be said to be the best among the many hotels we have stayed in during our trip to Northern Europe. Highly recommend this hotel"

GGuest UserI had an incredible experience in Iceland, and staying at this hostel made it even better! The atmosphere was peaceful, and the large pantry/kitchen was a highlight, offering plenty of space to cook and enjoy the beautiful views. Everything was clean and well-maintained, making it a comfortable place to relax.
However, one downside was that my food was thrown away by the staff before I had fully checked out, despite labeling it with my check-out date. That was a bit disappointing, but overall, the positives far outweighed this minor issue. I would still highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Iceland!
AAlec Lyubomirsky (alyubomi)We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland!
Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. There were even a few buses and cars that couldn't make their way up or down the icy, hilly streets and had to work their way around. So if you are going in the Winter, be cautious and walk slowly!

TTeacher HarryLayout of room was kind of strange. The bed is on a weird platform that might be difficult to navigate for less agile people, or those who are sleepy or otherwise impaired. Bathroom was overly small.
It has a kitchenette, but no microwave. The location is in the heart of the most touristy part of Reykjavik.
This is the third hotel I’ve stayed in while traveling to Reykjavik. The others, both lower priced, were not afflicted with the smell of sulphur (rotten eggs) in the water. It is possible to filter this out, and a person paying the price this hotel is asking should be able to expect better quality water.
If you want to be in the thick of the tourist action and don’t mind smelly water, this place is OK. Otherwise…
GGavinExcellent location, close to everything. Plenty of shops and restaurants right on the doorstep and with a taxi stand directly opposite. Just a few minutes walk from City Hall if you're taking the airport bus.
LLivoryPerfect in all counts. Service was top, free private parking saved hassle of figuring out public parking space, rooms super clean and housekeeping everyday (we didnt really need it but they kept our room tidy everyday), very good furniture arrangement to open two big luggages with room to still walk. Reykjavik city centre is not too big so walking from hotel is not hard at all. Hotel is beautiful with so much art to admire, lobby decor was amazing and welcoming. I am just glad that on my return to Reykjavik from east of Iceland, we are staying there again before we fly off to our next destination. If you’re staying in Reykjavik and don’t mind a 5min walk to city centre, this is the place to book. One small gripe: bring eyemasks for summer as the curtains leak a tiny bit of light no matter how you arrange it (which is a common issue we faced in most Icelandic hotels).
KkikophilosophieI‘ll recommend to choose a lower bunk when you are going to stay in a 6-beds-room, because there is no private curtains in upper bunks.
What’s more, you must spend about 6 euros to rent a towel if you don’t bring one.
It’s a little noisy in night especially for people who must go sleep and get up early to attend a travel tour. But you can always get ear plugs from the friendly stuff for free.
GGuest UserLocated in downtown Reykjavik, it is convenient for travel and has a good surrounding environment. However, it is a self-service hotel with no front desk and you have to contact by phone, which is very troublesome if you don't have good language skills. The breakfast is OK, rich and purely Western. Attached are photos of the surrounding environment.

SStefan-AusI can absolutely sympathise with people who struggle to get in and check in to this hotel.
When you book through a 3rd party app, you do not receive your room number or entry code. The check-in process is then an adventure of trying to shout into a tablet near the front door, for a call that lasts maximum 2 minutes before it disconnects and you have to try again.
The layout is… odd… to say the least, but if you follow the signs you can eventually end up at your room (if you find some of the doors that work, not all do).
The maintenance person who broke into our room while we were out forgot to lock the door, so we were at risk of all of our things being stolen, which wasn’t ideal.
The room itself was nice, location is good and as long as you don’t need anything, you are getting what you pay for.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very close to the cathedral and the city center. It is also very close to the bus station. It is also very convenient to go to the major attractions. The breakfast is moderate and the service is very good. The towels need to be mentioned in advance, no extra charge. This store is worth recommending.
