Nice, modern (system) hotel. Built in a loft-like style in keeping with the times. Sometimes loud. Staff were between very friendly and surprisingly disinterested. When we pointed out to reception that surely nobody really needed to dispose of the hotel's glass waste at 11:30 p.m. with a loud clatter, the receptionist replied ”we always do that” - but the colleague we told the story to in the morning was believably stunned. If we write off the problem, which we experienced 4 times in two nights, as a learning curve, we would still be happy to come back.

Super freundliche Gastgeberin, auch die beiden Köche sehr nett und aufmerksam, Sonderwünsche werden gerne erfüllt. Sehr leckeres asiatisches und deutsches Essen, hervorzuheben die Schnitzel gigantisch groß und super lecker, muss man unbedingt ausprobieren :) Tolles Team macht weiter so!!! Beim Frühstücksbuffet wäre Rührei oder Spiegeleier schön, aber sonst wirklich alles top-gerne wieder

A Gem on the River Rhine We discovered this hotel when looking for somewhere to stay near Koblenz. Service, staff, ambiance, breakfast, 1 meal all top notch. They also offer a free city ticket which entitles you to free travel by train & bus and discounted river cruises. Brilliant. Lovely small town, the hotel is within easy reach of restaurants, shops & transportation. 2 things of note 1) the cushions in the bedroom are too soft. 2) beware coming from Frankfurt as we did, there is a car ferry to take you across the Rhine which stops at 18.00. We had to drive to Koblenz 15km, over the first bridge available and return on the other side. Whilst a pleasant drive we could have done without it in the early evening. We booked via ******* so they are responsible for giving this sort of information. Another thing to beware in Germany, cash is still king. Several establishments refused to take a credit card. Not the hotel I hasten to add. All in all a great 3/4 day break in a lovely part of Germany.

I would like to divide my review into two areas. Firstly, the hotel and then the attached restaurant. When you arrive at the hotel, the first thing you notice is the ”ruin” to the right of the hotel, which definitely spoils the first impression. Once you have left that behind you, you enter a 3* country hotel. The reception was, as you would expect as a guest, friendly and courteous. We had booked a room facing the Rhine, which was a good size, as was the bathroom. The furnishings are not the newest, but still made a neat and clean impression. What the hotel can't do about, but still has to be mentioned, are the railway lines that run right past the hotel on both sides of the Rhine. The B9 also runs right past the hotel. So you should book a room facing the Rhine. The breakfast in the hotel was of a 3* standard, not exclusive, but it gave you a basis for the day. You can also book half board, and we would recommend that because the food is really very good. Small menu, but then the dishes are of high quality. Of course, you can also eat there if you are not a hotel guest. Regional and seasonal cuisine of the highest quality is offered. You can combine it with a wine tasting, which is actually a must for wine lovers. What I would like to recommend to the owner is to remove the exposed wiring in the winter garden and the dirty corner on the open terrace. It spoils the actually positive overall impression and can be quickly fixed. The hotel is a good choice for a short break.

The staff here are the kindest and loveliest we’ve ever come across. We had a few issues and had to book this last minute, we arrived at midnight and checked in with the lovely receptionist. He was funny and kind and cheered us up after a hard day. We mentioned we hadn’t had dinner, and he offered to open the kitchen and cook us pizzas( this was after midnight). The food was lovely and all the amenities were as well. Rooms were lovely and warm and we both slept so well. We woke up to a beautiful snowy morning and had a wide selection for breakfast. Every staff member we met was so lovely. And the airport shuttle is so quick and useful. If we are ever here again there is no doubt we would come here again.

I booked the ”hostel” option at Das Ebertor since I wanted to stay along the Rhine and Boppard offers transit passes to visitors. The hostel is just a room with bunks, not a true hostel with amenities. There is no kitchen or social area (though the hotel has restaurants). The room was nice and had a bathroom attached. There was a view of the courtyard. Everything was clean. First night, there were 3 other travelers, 2 the second night and I had the room to myself on the last night. I skipped the paid breakfast and didn't try the various restaurants. It was too early in the year for the outdoor beer garden. The front desk staff seemed new and not entirely familiar with hotel amenities and the area but they did help me book a bicycle (you can store it overnight in the garage). It was great to be so near the train station. There is a supermarket on the other side of the station. You're right on the river and it's about a 10 minute walk to old town.

The hotel is 1km from Frankfurt Hahn airport. Yes B&B hotel is directly opposite the airport but this has a much better feel to it from my experience. I got a lift there close to midnight as our plane got in very late but there is a shuttle bus that will also take you if you call them. I was pleasantly surprised. I payed €70 for breakfast and a room and the hotel looks really good and was comfortable. The room was clean, quiet with a good shower. I expected to stay in a lot worse! In fact, I would have preferred to stay here than the 4 star hotel I stayed in Wittlich for the other 2 nights. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had a beer but no food as it was quite late but people said that the food was good and not dear so I trust them. All I can say is that breakfast the next morning was excellent and you could have as much coffee as you wanted. There is a sauna etc but I did not have time to use it. I used the Hotel Shuttle Bus the next morning but if you are not feeling as lazy as I was, you could easily walk to the airport. I would definitely stay here again, whether staying for a night or a few days if flying into Frankfurt Hahn.
