We left the hotel Friday after a weeks stay. we visited as a family of 4 with a 7 & 12 year olds. So a stay in May half term holidays, didn't find the hotel or pools too busy. Overall the hotel was good, the rooms were good, cleaned everyday and beds made up , bottle of water in the fridge everyday, and air con in the room. You will need to pay €70 room tax for the week. The only thing I would say, is that in the kids room was only 1 main light, so you may want to bring a nightlight for younger ones oh and bring ear plugs, yes the planes go over but more so for the echoey corridors and people walking past🙉 We thought the food was great, us adults tried everything, so much choice there's enough for fussy eaters with chips and pasta. The only downside we found that the snack bars stopped serving at 5pm, and the Gelateria and the aquapark places you had to pay for additional ice cream, waffles, popcorn etc which would normally come under all inclusive items. Aquapark bar does not serve alcohol (which makes sense). The alcohol was questionable, and mostly free but all premium brands were chargeable. Although there are stations where you can fill up your refillable water bottles. Make sure you walk around the place, you have 3 main pools, 2 busy ones near the Gelateria but are quite deep for little ones. There is a small paddling pool behind the main pool, main pool is where the entertainment and activities are held. There is a shallower pool to the far right by the separate block of rooms, which I now think is the lazy river. You obviously have the aquapark at the front of the hotel, and I believe there are some height restrictions. If you walk through the aquapark you will come to the Sunland hotel still part of blue bay, where there are an additional 2 pools. Again we found the one by the snack bar the best for our youngest height. Plenty of sun beds. Rules differ at the pools/aquapark by different lifeguards. All pools open at 10 and close at 6pm. You can catch the public bus to Rhodes town, by turning left out of the hotel and following the road to the main road and the bus stop is the other side of the road. It can get busy, but it cost us €9 one way €7 coming back, reception have a copy of the timetable you can have. Buses run to at least 23:30. The hotel has a shuttle bus though, which you need to book beforehand. There are supermarkets either way you walk from the hotel, we didn't use these though. We had a later flight, check out is 11am and we weren't being picked up till 7pm. Hotel was fab, could use all facilities including all meals and drink, and if you didn't want to book the room for late check out you can just book to have a shower for free. Recommend aqua/water shoes for the beach. Can't comment on entertainment, we mostly played games in the lobby. We brought card and mini games from home, I believe nightly entertainment starts at 8.30pm.
