Golden Avenida Family Suites

We stayed here this month and it was fantastic! Professional friendly staff, nice pool, great restaurant with lots of food variety and the kids entertainment was brilliant. We wouldn’t hesitate in returning with our young family and the family suites were ideal for our family of 4.

We have just returned after spending a week with our 2 children.age 2 and 8. This is the best family hotel I have ever stayed at in any part of Spain. There is so much for the children to do at the hotel from great pools to play areas to the entertainment staff who organise games for all ages. The rooms are very spacious and spotless. We were room board only so I can't comment on the food,we did have snacks from the poolside bar, lovely sandwiches which I found reasonable price. We don't normally go back to the same resort twice,however after or great experience at the AVENIDA we will definitely be returning.

Excellent family holiday. Fantastic staff so very helpful and kind. Pool area is superb small slide in small pool wet bubble in other half . No big deep bits so great for kids and shorties like me !! Up the stairs from baby end is a little chill out bit very quiet with a small baby pool great for peace and quiet. Rooms great size comfy beds great balconies. Super clean. We were only breakfast but it was faultless. Best omelette I've ever had. Water machine to fill your bottles great little extra. Entertainment day and night spot on. 5 mins walk to busy ***** and maybe 10 mins to sea. Salou is large and has something for every age group. Try the old town 20 mins walk away. Cannot fault this hotel.

We visited this lovely hotel in June for our first family holiday with our 7 month old baby. We had a great time! The rooms were spacious and clean. There were all the facilities necessary for bottle prep (microwave/fridge/sink etc!), a cot and baby room in the reception area. The shower was powerful and lovely toiletries available if needed. Some of the reviews we read prior to booking mentioned about noise at night but this was not an issue for us during our stay. We went half board which was perfect for us- lots of different food options, freshly cooked and always topped up! There was a water dispenser by the pool with filtered water which was fantastic and also very sustainable as saved us buying lots of plastic water bottles! The pool area was clean with lots of sunbed availability. Lots of entertainment if wanted throughout the day and a good choice of drinks and snacks available by the pool. The beach and main town area were about a 10 minute flat walk- very doable with a pram. Overall, a really fantastic hotel in a good location! The only constructive feedback we have was that there were not any plug sockets by our bed and very few in the room (we brought an extension lead which i'd recommend doing), we struggled to find an umbrella by the pool on some of the days so might be worth investing in some more. Finally, there were a few finishing touches that would make a difference to the rooms- paint on the door frames and the sealant needed re-doing round our bath but this did not affect our stay.

Extremely friendly staff, the bar staff were really nice and friendly, nothing was ever too much for them, you got waiter service around the pool, just give one of them a shout as they walk around and they will happily assist you. great hotel for kids, brilliant swimming pool had a bubble in the middle of it for kids to climb on and jump off which they absolutely loved doing, theres a little toddler pool with 2 slides, a play area which has sand around it so they can play in the sand if you dont fancy going to the beach. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, the aircon is brilliant, the room was very spacious and had lots of storage, also has a under counter fridge, kettle and microwave. We went half board and the food was amazing 3 or 4 different types of meats to chose from every night with plenty of choice for the kids, they also cater for people with allergies too. Very accessible for wheelchair users the disabled rooms, the sink in the bathroom is lowered and just the right height to get your wheelchair under it. The pool area also has ramps so you can access it easily, the pool also is ramped which was a bonus for my partner as he could access the pool by himself and not need any help getting in and out. The hotel provide free water via a water machine next to the pool bar. The drinks and food are reasonable prices, they have fosters, strongbow and cruzcampo on draft at just €3.70 a pint. This was my first time visiting salou and it definitely won't be my last, I thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't want to come home.

Just back from 5 nights here with my 6 year old and my mum and overall we had a brilliant time. The first night was rocky as we'd been given a room on the first floor right next to the lifts / Stairwell and the noise was unreal. Doors slamming, kids going berserk and just general noise till 2am... and then it all started up again at 6am. So we got very little sleep that night. We asked for a room change to see if it would make a difference and the staff were really understanding and accommodating! We were given a new room on the 6th floor , away from lifts and it was perfect! No more noise and we all got full night's sleep for the rest of the holiday! Rooms were clean and comfortable and cleaning staff worked their socks off. We found the beds really comfy and loved the 2 bedrooms aspect to give us space. The pool area is fantastic. My 6 year old was barely out the pool all holiday. He loved the water bubble and the reps coming with toys. We didn't have an issue at all getting loungers, but we were always out before about 9.30/ 10am. I think after that you might struggle. Food wise, we went half board and thought the food was fine. Breakfast was excellent and had lots of choice. Dinner was just OK. Choice wasn't bad, but a lot of it was luke warm at best and a wee bit repetitive even though we were only there 5 nights. Entertainment wise , it was great. They very much cater for young families which was ideal for us. My son loved the mini disco, balloon modelling etc. We never stayed late enough for the adult entertainment , but it looked good! I'd definitely consider staying here again if we came back to Salou.
