Very well located hotel. Excellent spa with great facilities - very relaxing. Good gym classes. Super friendly staff at breakfast and tapas bar and front office. Room was fine - and housekeeping efficient. This was our fifth stay which says it all and will be back next week

A great hotel built as a series of pavilions, where the rooms are small villas. We loved this place, the breakfast was great, the bars were great and the pools were lovely. My favourite part of the hotel is definitely the reception with views across the courtyards to the golf course beyond. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel and wonderful holiday! Accommodation- Excellent rooms. Two adults and two children in connecting rooms. Lovely bathrooms. Service - very friendly staff, very quick service and super helpful. Facilities - great kids pool. Adults only pool area extensive with two pools and loads of loungers. Spa pool and hot/cold plunge pools were great fun with the kids (allowed between 10-13.00). Golf courses were good enough. 9 hole Lagos was lovely and the 9 hole Pinos was less interesting but fine. New practice range and short 9 hole course were being developed at the time of visit. Food - the all-inclusive option was great. The SoCiety restaurant for breakfast and lunch was great and had enough variety to see us through the week. Evening options for kids was trickier as neither Marxa or Cortijo had many “kid friendly” options, but there were enough to see us dine there 3 out of 7 nights. La Reserva Beach/Tennis club - worth doing the La Reserva beach for a day (one day included in the all-inclusive package) and the tennis club is great. Would definitely recommend having a car for off site evening eating options and going in to Sotogrande. Overall - great hotel and will certainly think about going back.

Another fabulous experience at SO, a reduced all inclusive menu didn’t sit well compared to our June visit but once again we could not fault the quality, staff and service. A massive shout out to Alina and team at the IXO for being so welcoming and attentive, you remembered us from June and your bar/mixology skills and your team are fantastic! Also, Arby at the pool bar, the best Mojito I have ever had!! Missed it on our last pool day, but we will be back. Golf was amazing, sunrise on Lagos was a memory that will stay with us for a long while, beautiful greens and fantastic golf chatter throughout the hotel. Another fantastic stay, just hoping the all inclusive does not get scaled back further!

We spent our mini-moon here and loved it. First class service, delicious food, beautifully designed suites, incredible landscape and landscaping. Lovely spa. I can't comment on the golf course because we don't play but it looks great. We will be returning.

Fabulous rooms and service. And a wonderful massage. The food was varied and excellent. It was nice to able to have a bistro style meal or a fine dining experience as well as just a few tapas at the bar. Breakfast everyday was also varied. We stayed a week and dint get through any of the menus

outstanding attention to luxury in rooms and throughout. Spa is fabulous. Staff could not be more attentive, friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious, ovelrlooking Andalucian sunrise, what's not to love? Bar is lively and elegant. Perfect after a day enjoying the amazing local golf.

Whilst there is no doubt that this is a lovely property, there needs to be greater focus on service and better staffing. During a recent golfing trip visit the Spa was shut all week, all the pools closed, and several of the restaurants mothballed. We saw a lot of residents walk out of restaurants and the IXO bar due to poor service, and when we tried to bring certain matters to the attention of the hotel reception the staff simply shrugged. Heard a lot of complaints about cold food at breakfast, and the hotel shuttle too, although we had been warned about the latter in advance and hired a car to get us to various golf courses.
