"I’m writing this from my terrace on the 5th floor, overlooking the pool. My family and I, 5 adults, have really enjoyed spending a week at this hotel. I was initially worried after reading some of the reviews, however our experience has been wonderful. The hotel is beautiful, the guest rooms extremely comfortable with amazing beds and fabulous bathrooms - with a bath and separate shower cubicle - bath salts provided. When we arrived my son and nephew had been given a room with a huge bed to share. This was quickly rectified and they were moved to a twin room - both beds double. The staff have all been welcoming and professional, especially Maria at breakfast and Elan at dinner at El Faro. However all the staff have been great. Breakfast choice is extremely good with an egg station for omelets etc. We’ve enjoyed lunch at the poolside restaurant too. Dinner at both restaurants has been great with attentive staff and great food. The sun loungers have been plentiful towards the end of the week, there were issues with not enough, but more arrived on Thursday. My only quibble is the lack of a hotel bar that is both visible and open beyond 10pm. The lobby is very nice but an actual bar would be better. I didn’t visit the gym or the spa, but three of my family played both golf courses and said both were fantastic, particularly the Links course. The hotel is fairly remote, a taxi to Sotogrande was €30 each way. I took a stroll to Alcaidesa which took 20 mins, it’s quite pretty but not a lot in the way of restaurants or bars. One highlight of the week was the lavish party thrown by the hotel on Wednesday to kick off the summer season. Great fun! I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a bit of luxury in the sun."

"As I’ve mentioned before, this end of the Costa del Sol has surprisingly few truly good hotel options, so it’s great to see another property open in the region. Although construction isn’t yet fully complete, most of the complex is now operational. I may be mistaken, but it felt as though we were experiencing something of a soft opening. The owners have done an excellent job transforming a 1970s golf resort into a stylish, contemporary hotel, centred around a large and inviting pool. The rooms are beautifully renovated—spacious, bright, and thoughtfully designed. That said, a few small details still need attention, likely due to the ongoing works. The bathrooms, for instance, lack hooks or racks for towels. The terrace outside our room was in need of repainting or a good pressure wash. Around the pool, the redecorated lounging area is very attractive, but the pool itself still bears its dated 1970s mosaic tiling, which could benefit from refurbishment. For the most part, the staff were warm and friendly. However, the breakfast team seemed overwhelmed by the number of guests, and their brusque manner didn’t quite match the otherwise beautiful surroundings. Perhaps this was the first weekend the hotel had been at full capacity? Just as the physical space still requires finishing touches, it seems the service would benefit from additional training to match the high standard the hotel is aiming for. Regardless, these are minor wrinkles that will no doubt be ironed out in the weeks and months ahead. In short, this is a welcome and much-needed addition to this stretch of coast, and we look forward to returning."

"Firstly the location is beautiful however you approach the exterior of the hotel to be greeted by lots weeds on the steps/garden and bird poo! Not at all welcoming! The interior has been beautifully decorated but the experience is sadly lacking in attention to detail! For example the roof top bar …. Setting is fabulous but you can’t have a drink until 1pm as the bar isn’t open? Not at all customer friendly or customer focused! Someone needs to walk the experience of the guest and then maybe they would understand why it is underwhelming?"

"Stunning location and sumptuous accommodation. We stayed as a family of five in Casa Fatima and loved our holiday here. Fab beds and decor with space for everyone to relax and spread out. The kitchen is well equipped to whip up family size meals and eat together inside or out on the terrace set in the most beautiful gardens and with sunset and sea views to while a way a bottle of wine, or two! The kids had a blast in the pool and it was only a few minutes walk to the beach or into the port to find an excellent choice of eateries and gelato worthy of repeat visits! Lots to see and do in the area although we were happiest within the grounds of Templo relaxing and enjoying the gardens and views. Would highly recommend."
