The location suited us for this particular visit. The hosts Chris and Alison were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the breakfasts very much. The bedroom and plumbing are in need of some TLC. The guesthouse has the potential to be more comfortable with an upgrade of the linen and towels.

Both Chris and Alison are wonderful hosts and delightful people .They made our stay special and were so helpful when our flight was cancelled . It was like being in a welcoming home . Wonderful garden , pool and breakfast . It’s rare you want to hug your hosts on leaving .

I enjoyed my two night stay in Sandton. The guest house is fantastic location and safe . I loved my balcony. Breakfast was good. Very nice owner.

Very comfortable rooms with private bath and private balcony. Well situated in residential area. I went walking every morning and felt safe. Delicious SA breakfast every morning with a wide array of choices. Owners Chris and Robyn are delightful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. They also picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Highgrove. Chris is an excellent host, very friendly and attentive. The guest house is in a beautiful, safe location, well connected to the main attractions in Johannesburg. The rooms are clean, cosy and have all the amenities we needed. We honestly cannot recommend it enough, and will most certainly stay here again. Thank you Chris and Highgrove Team!

It's an excellent guest house where Chris and Alison really treat you as a personal guest. The accommodation - rooms, showers, beds, sitting areas inside and out - are very good quality and the location is very pleasant and safe, but it's the personal attention to your dietary preferences, places to visit etc, and the welcome you receive that makes this guesthouse stand out. The breakfasts are excellent and Chris made everything from steak to mouthwatering vegan meatballs for our evening meals. We highly recommend, and the regular guests we met while staying are testimony to the quality of this establishment.

While we only stayed just one night to deal with jet-lag, our host provided us with transportation to/from the airport and prepared for us an excellent dinner. It made our first impression of South Africa a most gracious and hospitable one.
