We loved everything about Villa Gelsomino it has such a great ambience, we appreciated the lovely text prior to our arrival with the pillow menu - easy check in - excellent location & an easy short walk from the railway station - a very warm welcome after our long journey - beautiful warm & comfortable bedroom with an exquisite ceiling.....excellent view of the sea & a lovely en-suite bathroom - the villa has a wonderful garden/gazebo/fairy lights etc - breakfast room is stunning, and the views are breathtaking - delicious breakfast choices with home made breads/cakes etc. Thank you for making us so welcome ~ we will definitely be back soon. We enjoyed our stay in Villa Gelsomino very much. Barbara and Maya were excellent hosts. The villa has been restored and decorated with exceptional taste, and the grounds are lovely. We enjoyed our made-to-order breakfasts, especially Maya's wonderful cakes and breads. The parking couldn't have been better, and it was just a short walk into town.

Out stay was really beautiful and fully fullfilled our expectations! The room is large with cloud soft bed with the sea view. Breakfast was also good on the first floor with baroque style ambient. Everyone in the villa was very helpful. Def. reccomend.

Villa Gelsomino exceeded our expectations. It is a beautifully restored and maintained historic villa. The hosts/owners could not have been more helpful prior to and during out stay. Unfortunately, we only had three nights. The room was sumptuous and had beautiful views. I believe it was called Cinge Terre. With only about 6 guest rooms, the villa is peaceful and the upper floor has a great sitting room. The main floor has a beautiful terrace where breakfast is usually served. We asked the hotel to make us some restaurant reservation for Santa Margherita, lunch in Portofino and even dinner in Monterosso, They were very efficient and friendly. One day there the weather was windy and rainy, so we opted to relax at the Villa and they fixed us a lovely lunch. There is no staff at night, but there is an honor bar on the main floor if guests wish to have a drink in the villa. The walk into town is short, but there are some steep stairs to and from the hotel. If you arrive or depart by train, the station is only a 5 minute walk but if you have luggage other than a backpack, a taxi is advised. Our room was on the smaller side,but still VERY comfortable. i would recommend Villq Gelsomino and hope to return myself.

The location is amazing - the view, the building, and the backyard. They preserved well the genoan elements in the house. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The italian breakfast was good and served elegantly in a beautiful room, with lots of homemade foods. The only drawback is that the parking was 10EUR per day.

Exquisite villa with port views. An oasis of inspiration. we loved the vibe, the villa, the room. We had the suite Il Frutuoso with an amazing view. We had an Alexa in our room so we put some jazz to acompany the view and the finishing of the villa. The flooring and ceiling are original ones from 1874. We loved it.

A very nice experience with nice views. Rooms are large, very comfortable bed with nice linen and with the character of the original villa. Breakfast on the patio came with a beautiful view. Quality of the breakfast was also very nice. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The property is a little difficult to find but the on-site parking is an added benefit. Arrived late in the afternoon and drove into Portofino around 8pm no issues to have dinner. Access down to the town and station is from a stairway next to the hotel and easy to find but the climb is a little steep. Didn’t use it as I had a car but for those using public transport, getting up and down from the villa may require effort if you have luggage. No irons in room but they do provide a steamer. Overall a nice experience for a one night stay to visit Portofino.

This is a lovely place, perched on a hill above Santa Margeherita but still accessible for the town and all its delights. The staff are really friendly and the views are stunning. They haven't got a pool but have got a great spa tub and lovely gardens with sun beds. The building itself is stunning and views from the breakfast terrace would be hard to beat anywhere in the world.
