We could not have been more pleased with our apartment at Palherio Village. The apartment had everything one might need for a stay in Madeira, with spacious bedrooms, clean and well-lit bathrooms, and a full kitchen, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Beds are on the firm-side, something to keep in mind for people who prefer plush-top mattresses. Views from balconies/patios overlook the ocean and/or Funchal depending upon your apartment. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. While not within walking distance of many restaurant options, the apartments are a quick 5-10 minute drive from the waterfront in Funchal. The village complex has several swimming pools available, although we did not take advantage of them during our stay. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with lots of flowering vegetation (at least during our stay in early-June). Palheiro Village is located a little east of Funchal, and thus accessing most of the island takes some driving. However, the entrance to the local freeway is just a few minutes away, and is likely easier to access than from somewhere in downtown Funchal. I would definitely stay here again should I return to Madeira!

I’d give 4.5* if I could due to minor cons, but they are quite insignificant cause the overall impression was fantastic. Luxury private property (from Blandy’s family) providing everything one might need for a luxurious stay. We’ve stayed in building 6, apt 30, so we were the closest to both main road with busses as the pool. Beautiful classy 2-bedroom apartment with everything one might need. I enjoyed waking up and having breakfast on the terrace enjoying the sea view. Very nice gesture of welcome bottle of Madeira and honey cake. The minors is that they could leave the essentials from previous guests like salt, pepper, sugar, olive oil, coffee, tea. There is literally nothing except for kitchenware, so you’ll have to buy everything. It can also be a bit noisy from the main road, especially if you prefer sleeping with an open window. And you’ll by all means need a car. Calling Bolt or taxi here can be a challenge- waiting time up to 40min. It’s easier to get from the city back. Cost 15-18€ and 15-20min. There is a bus though.

Boa localização e casa muitos espaçosa, mas em termos de limpeza podia ser mais frequentes, pequeno almoço variado e saboroso. Adorámos a Complexo Balnear da Barreirinha, e as levadas.

Saubere, moderne und gut gepflegte Anlage. Besonders die Größe der Pool-Anlage und der Blick von der zugehörigenTerasse sind hervorzuheben. Die Apartments sind geräumig, nicht abgewohnt und verfügen über eine sehr gute Ausstattung. Für Golfspieler*innen bietet das Village sogar noch einen weitläufigen Golfplatz mit Blick über Funchal sowie das Meer. Für alle Urlauber ohne Mietwagen befindet sich unmittelbar vor dem Einfahrtstor eine Bushaltestelle mit direkter Verbindung in die Stadt. Leider ist in unserem Fall das Apartment Nr. 19 in der ersten Häuserreihe über der Hauptstraße gelegen. Auf der Terrasse entspannen oder bei offenem Fenstern schlafen ist daher nicht möglich gewesen. Es gibt jedoch auch genügend Wohnungen in höhergelegenen Reihen.

Große helle Wohnungen erwarten die Gäste. Die Apartements liegen etwas außerhalb von Funchal, so dass man auf Bus oder Auto angewiesen ist. Oder man ist sehr gut zu Fuß :) Wir waren jetzt 2x hier. Unsere Ankunft war spät abends. Die Rezeption hat das aber gut im Griff, so dass der Wachservice (täglich ca. von 18 bis 8 Uhr) uns zur Wohnung brachte. Unsere Wohnung lag im 1. UG des Gebäudes. Große Küche, 2 Schlafzimmer, Wohnzimmer, geräumige Terrasse inkl. Möblierung. Müllbeutel, Tabs für den Geschirrspüler waren auch vorhanden. Wir hatten einen zauberhaften Blick aufs Wasser... und auch auf den Verkehr. Wer ein "Dorfkind" ist, hat mit den Verkehrsgeräuschen abends und nachts doch zu kämpfen. Das sollte man vielleicht wissen. Die Wohnung ist gemütlich eingerichtet inkl. sehr gutem WLAN. Nur unser Sofa war abends etwas "anstregend". Es war doch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Gastronomie haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen. Auch haben wir den großen Gemeinschaftspool nicht genutzt, auch nicht das Wellnessangebot. Wer keinen Urlaub im Hotel verbingen möchte, ist aber hier gut aufgehoben.

Wir hatten Appartement Nr.80 mit zwei Schlafzimmern und Blick auf funchal, es war alles sauber als wir ankamen! Wenn man kommt muss man ganz nach oben zum Golf Clubhaus um sich anzumelden! Achtung, die Anlage liegt an einem sehr steilen Hang wir würden dringend ein Mietwagen empfehlen weil fussläufig fast nix zu machen ist! Es ist zwar vor der Anlage eine Bushaltestelle, aber wenn man weiter oben sein Appartement hat ist es wirklich beschwerlich dort hinzu gelangen! Ein schöner Rückzugsort wenn man keine Lust auf Trubel hat! Wir können die Anlage nur empfehlen und wenn wir nochmal nach Madeira verreisen wieder hier buchen!🤩
