Matahacas Pool & Luxury

We stayed in apartment one on the ground floor. Sadly, it was not a great experience. As soon as we opened the apartment door, there was an instant smell of damp and there was evidence of mould on the bathroom wall. I instantly alerted the host to this and got an email back the following day to say they’d “inform their technician” - no help to me. The ground floor apartment’s windows face straight onto the narrow street outside. You could hear constant traffic & noise from cars and pedestrians throughout the night. The entry buzzer system is also very noisy and could hear it going all night too. Noise is general was just an issue, could even hear the upstairs apartment flushing their loo. And then the fire alarm (in the bedroom) constantly flashed a bright white light all night too. Fair to say our sleep wasn’t 5*. The overall aesthetic doesn’t live up to its online pictures. A bit of a catfish shall we say. The rooftop terrace is in need for a bit of TLC and a lick of paint. The pool didn’t look the cleanest, but wouldn’t have stepped foot in it anyway (March) and the sun beds were ripped and stained. We didn’t get the impression of luxury that was advertised.

These apartments do not live up to the "Luxury" in the name. It's an old bulding on a narrow and busy street. Our aparment on the ground was accessed through the central courtyard. It was quiet with a good sized living area/kitchen, a bedroom with access to a private coutyard and a showeroom. The apartmant was well equipped for two people. The pool area was small but very welcome. At some point in time they appear to have had a water problem which resulted in some walls having been taken back to the original stonework. This has left a lingering damp smell in the livingroom/kitchen. This was a good apartment in central Seville near restaurants and other sites and should the repair work be carried out to a proper standard the overall rating would be higher.
