We had the misfortune of booking an economy room at this hotel. We had read that the room faced the street, so we were prepared to hear some noise from outside. What we didn't know was that there was a nightclub just a few meters from the hotel, so we heard noise all night, only managing to fall asleep after 6 am.
Since we had booked 2 nights and couldn't stand another sleepless night, we asked the front desk to cut short our stay and get a refund for the second night. They agreed and asked us to contact trip.com ourselves to explain the situation.
Having to go out for a planned visit, we packed our bags, but left them in the room, saying that if we received a refund, they could remove them from the room and re-let it. After waiting 8 hours without the hotel officially confirming to trip.com for the refund, we returned to the hotel to find that our bags had been removed and the room already re-let.
After two days we were contacted by trip.com, who informed us that the hotel had indeed cancelled the second night, but kept the entire amount. So not only did they lie to us about the possibility of receiving a refund and removed our luggage without permission, but they also made double the rent for the room. Fortunately, trip.com refunded us “out of pocket” a portion of the amount.
