I chose this hotel because I enjoy running along the Bund promenade in North Bund. The transportation is super convenient; it's about a 500-meter walk from Metro Line 12. Raffles City and Magnolia Plaza are also nearby. The streets outside the hotel are very quiet as well. The hygiene is good, the lobby is clean, and they even provide drinks, coffee, and snacks.

The room was pretty good, clean, and well-equipped. All the disposable amenities you could need were provided. However, this hotel claims to be the Hongqiao Railway Station branch, but it's actually quite far from the station. I dragged my luggage for 20 minutes! The roads around Hongqiao Railway Station are like a maze, and I was so frustrated trying to find my way. I couldn't find a bus stop, and a taxi ride would have cost over 30 yuan and involved a long detour. Originally, we had plans for the next day and intended to leave our luggage at the hotel and pick it up later, but I was so tired from the walk that I just didn't want to go back. I'd rather pay 80 yuan to store my luggage at the station.

Came to Shanghai for a class and stayed at Yishang Hotel for 12 nights. It was a great experience. The breakfast was good, and the room was clean and comfortable. They also have free self-service laundry facilities. There's a super tiny gym corner (I suggest adding some dumbbells for guests to use, as they are essential gym equipment). The staff were also nice and helpful. If I come back to Shanghai for classes again and the room rates are good, I would still choose to stay at Yishang.

The hotel has been newly renovated, and the facilities are all quite good. In terms of service, it feels like they are still in a debugging phase, but you can tell the staff genuinely care about customer feedback and experiences.
Special shout-out to a young lady at the front desk who patiently asked for my opinion on the room, what I liked, and what could be improved.
The lady responsible for room cleaning was also very sincere and enthusiastic about serving customers.
I think the two male employees at the front desk could benefit from some additional training in communication skills.
The upstairs hallway has thick carpet, so if you have large luggage, you might want to request a room closer to the elevator.
