5/5 – Perfect Family-Friendly Stay in a Great Location
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly attentive and super helpful with our baby, making our family trip so much easier. Their kindness and willingness to assist truly stood out.
The location is excellent – situated on a charming street filled with cozy cafes, lively bars, and cute boutiques. It was the perfect spot to explore the area while having everything we needed right nearby.
We also appreciated the daily complimentary coffee and bottled water, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh options.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers, especially families.

The hotel is conveniently located about a 7-minute walk from Metro Line 2, making it easy to explore Shanghai. Our room has the view of the iconic 1000 Trees. The room was relatively clean and comfortable, though the partial partition between the bathroom and sleeping area felt a bit awkward, as the bathroom door was visible from the bed. Breakfast was serviceable but could be improved in terms of variety and flavor.

Modern, Convenient, and 24/7 Service!
We arrived very late (4 AM), but check-in was smooth—reception was available and welcoming. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Shanghai Railway Station, which made travel super convenient. The design is clean and modern, with comfortable rooms. Bonus: there’s a Family Mart right downstairs for quick snacks and essentials. Great stay overall!

I chose the Swissôtel near Jing'an Temple for the convenience of meeting friends. While the facilities are a bit dated, they are fully functional and in good working order. What truly impressed me was the hotel management, which upholds the high standards expected of a reputable, established hotel. My check-in experience was excellent, and the entire stay was very comfortable, completely devoid of the stuffy or dated atmosphere often associated with older properties.

Hotel is cheap and basic, but serves its purpose. Was actually misled by the review, as I thought it’s a convenient place, but turns out that the only pro is that it’s next to a metro, but other than that there’s no shops/breakfast place at all near the place. Nevertheless quite value for money

I’ve stayed here before many times over the last 3 years. This would normally be our hotel chain of choice based on price point and amenities.
The room smelt like an airport smoking room on a bad day. I thought about accepting it as I was tired and it was late but the air conditioning in the rooms on floor 2 are also not good. Noisy neighbours, screaming kids and families sharing multiple rooms next to each leaving the doors open made the experience even more unpleasant.
I had to wait 30 minutes for a new room in a grotty reception area with broken seats.
After asking for a refund, I got upgrade to a decent room on the 6th floor. Clean and no smell.
Breakfast is good here and much better than in other Chinese Campanile hotels- European breakfast choices are all available: pain au chocolate (etc), butter, milk, acceptable fruit juice etc.
There are hotels in this area of a higher quality that provide the same for around 1/2 the price. It’s worth trying the Chinese brands.
This stay was expensive as I bought it last minute- next, I’ll choose a different hotel.
Key point: if you do book here in advance, you can get a better deal and better rooms- request a non smoking quiet room. If you do stay here, the location is excellent. The LV ship is 1 metro stop away. There are plenty of museums within 5 minutes walking distance and you can walk along the canal to the Bund in 25 minutes.

Excellent hotel where I spent my night in Shanghai before taking the train to another city. The hotel is 5 minutes walking from Shanghai railway station and metro. The staff at the reception speech good English. And the breakfast was good and delicious. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I really recommend it, mostly if you need something calm and near to Shanghai railway station.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during my recent trip to Shanghai. The location is absolutely perfect - being so close to Shanghai Railway Station made arrival and departure incredibly convenient, especially when traveling with luggage. Despite being near the station, the hotel is surprisingly central and well-connected to the city’s main attractions.
From here, I could easily reach most of Shanghai’s tourist hotspots without spending hours in transit. The Bund, Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, and other must-see places were all accessible via short subway rides or taxi trips. The transportation links from this area are fantastic.
The housekeeping service deserves special mention. My room was impeccably clean throughout my stay, with daily service that was thorough and professional. Fresh towels, well-made beds, and spotless bathrooms - exactly what you want after a day of exploring the city.

Superb location near to Jing'an Temple, easy to wander in French quarter, shopping malls or connect to subway and bus network. Only half a dozen stops to the Bund.
Apartment was more spacious than I expected for city centre, equipped with all the basics for laundry and eating at home but with daily cleaning and restock of water, loo roll etc. and you can book breakfast at reception for a very reasonable price too. Best of both worlds.
We really enjoyed the view of the city at night from our 15th floor nest.
Owner could not have been more friendly or helpful. Even arranged a repair of a squeaky bed frame while we were out.
Definitely recommend.

I was in Shanghai for an exhibition and booked The Kunlun Hotel through an online travel platform. Its location is fantastic, super close to the subway; just 100 meters from Exit 12 of Jing'an Temple Station! Stepping inside, I was immediately impressed by the sheer space and grandeur. The lobby is expansive, with high ceilings, and feels incredibly opulent.
I stayed on a high floor. My initial room was on the 23rd floor, offering a view of Jing'an Temple. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue: the air conditioner started leaking, so I had to switch rooms. My second room, on the 28th floor, then had a splendid view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. From both high vantage points, Shanghai's bustling traffic looked incredibly dense and vibrant. As someone who can feel overwhelmed by crowded patterns, it was quite a sight!
The hotel also generously invited me to a buffet meal at their 38th-floor restaurant. There was a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, though I regret forgetting to take photos. The Japanese ramen was decent, and overall, it was a simple yet satisfying meal. However, I must say, sitting by the window and looking down offered a truly commanding perspective, allowing me to once again soak in Shanghai's dynamic energy. It was a wonderful experience!
As for the room itself, it was perfectly equipped with everything one could need and was genuinely comfortable and well-appointed!
A quick tip for fellow travelers: toothbrushes are not provided in the room, so if you forget yours, remember to ask for one at the front desk.
I was a bit rushed during check-out, so I didn't get a chance to photograph the breakfast buffet area. However, the breakfast buffet actually offered a great ambiance and a wide variety of choices – it was quite good!
Should I visit Shanghai again, I would definitely choose this hotel.

Nnissa2026The boss is very nice and enthusiastic! The sanitation is very good and the environment is very comfortable. The house is also very unique. The windows are classic steel windows, and you can see the road and the sycamore trees. The location is excellent and it is close to Urumqi Road, Anfu Road and Huaihai Middle Road. Highly recommended.

AAnonymous UserThe room was nice and spacious. The room is surrounded by market selling fruits and food and other shops which is great in a way but also in the early morning, there will be sound of people dragging trolleys and talking loudly which the room didn't have a good insulation system for.
More importantly, there's is no metro that was near enough that could walk within 10 minutes, every metro line station was very far away. The staff was not friendly, no talking or even simple greeting.
Not recommended.

GGuest UserIt was my first time to travel to Shanghai alone. The front desk lady was very gentle when I entered the room on the night of check-in. She even said that she upgraded my room. As we all know, the prices in Shanghai are high. That small place carries my dream of finding my idol. Thank you for the enthusiasm of the front desk lady. Although the room is small, it is clean and tidy, full of Shanghai style. If someone has booked this room type, I hope you can understand. After all, the room is this price. It is really impossible to have a cheap and large room in Shanghai. Shanghai, hope to see you next time.

HHongyan1099The front desk service is very bad and unfriendly. In short, I will never choose this hotel to stay in when I go on business trips to Shanghai in the future. I returned to Shanghai on the 8th and have chosen another hotel to stay in. The cleaning lady was very careful and kept the room clean. She was also very easy to communicate with. Although the price is affordable, the service is really bad and she gave me a cold face. When I consulted, I was inexplicably scolded and indifferent. This is the worst time I have stayed in 50/60 hotels. I will never stay here again.

YYutoushigekuguyThe hotel is elegant, the front desk staff is friendly and professional, and check-in is efficient. The room is spacious and bright, the bedding is comfortable, and the bathroom is clean and odor-free. It's located right next to the subway and within walking distance of the surrounding shopping district. It's an excellent value for money. I'll definitely stay here again on my next business trip and highly recommend it to my friends!
MM525268****When I came to the hotel, I felt as warm as home. The front desk service was also very friendly. It was a very good stay experience. I will choose this hotel next time I come here.

GGuest UserBeing single and living outside, I can make do with food and accommodation, but it is unacceptable if the basic hygiene of the accommodation cannot be guaranteed. The toilet smells musty, the slippers in the room are extremely dirty and broken, the air conditioner is extremely dirty and musty, the TV is so dusty that the remote control cannot be touched by hand. I will definitely not patronize this store again
