Changxing Island Qingcaosha Reservoir was on a business trip. I didn’t expect that there are such good hotel standard rooms here. It is bigger than the five-star hotel in the city. The hotel is located in the administrative center of Chongming District, a ten-minute walk from Chongming Palace (Chongming County Museum), Yingzhou Park, Nanmen Scenic Embankment and other scenic spots. There are many commercial restaurants around, and the geographical location is excellent. The hotel rooms are simple, spacious, clean and bright, with high-quality facilities and supplies, and comfortable to live in; although there are not many breakfast varieties, they are particularly appetizing and satisfying, especially the 24-hour free coffee and tea service, which is full of features; the service is standardized and in place, and the late check-out is warm and homely; there is a free parking lot, and it is also equipped with charging piles, which is convenient for self-driving travel; overall very satisfied.

Hotel is not bad, but during our stay, most of the common areas were quite cold. Also, water in the main pool was quite cold, as well as the air temperature, making it unpleasant. It is ok for pure swimming, but since it is a family hotel, temperature should be fine also for kids playing. Service in the Merket restaurant was quite poor, while in the Chinese restaurant the service was very good, as well as the food, much better than in the Market. Breakfast is good. There is a small outside playground with animals. Some of the animals (the cow, the small rodents…) look a little bit suffering. If you don’t speak Chinese it is quite difficult to understand what kind of activities can be done (in the hotel or with hotel support), and nobody is proposing anything at first. All in all, not thinking to come back.

There is still room for improvement. The floor heating temperature is because it is a cycle of the whole building, so the temperature control effect in the room is limited. Even if we turn it off on the first night, it was still hot and didn't sleep well all night. There is a lack of towels in the room. There is no chair on the floor in the room, which is not convenient for the elderly to rest. The TV is not equipped with cable, we will on-demand and cast screens, and the elderly have not much choice. In short, Lanhaizhuang is still very surprising, all five-star praise, I hope to make persistent efforts, we will definitely come again when we have time. Nice gateway far from Shanghai’s city life. Warm service, calm environment and clean bedroom and bathroom. There are no shops and restaurants nearby, but you can have diner there directly, the ayis cooking is pretty good! I recommend their garlic eggplant dish, they make it to chongming’s flavor! Their breakfast is pretty filling, I recommend to try their local specialty, chongming cake, it’s sweet and yummy!

Every time I come to Chongming to visit relatives, I always book Starway Hotel. The transportation is very convenient. It is right outside the South Gate Pier. It is also very convenient for eating and traveling. There is Luckin Coffee KFC next to it, and there are Burger King and Starbucks in front. This time there was also a small market near Burger King, and we also went to pick strawberries. The next morning we usually had breakfast and walked around the embankment and took a stroll around Yingzhou Park, and finally checked out and went home☺️☺️

The time is from 6:30-10:30, which can be said to be very humane. We all slept in for a long time before going to breakfast, and there was plenty of time. The service is nice, whether it is the young lady at the front desk, the restaurant boy, or the concierge who rents bicycles, they all feel well-trained and treat guests with courtesy and kindness.
