Excellent hotel! It's right by the Huangpu River, with a fantastic riverside running path that stretches for tens of kilometers – a dream come true for runners. After a morning jog, a quick refresh, and then breakfast on the top floor with plenty of nutritious options! I originally booked for two nights, but the lovely front desk staff upgraded me to a full river view room with stunning vistas, so I extended my stay by another day. The constant flow of boats on the river really highlights Shanghai's commercial prosperity and industrial significance – truly a century's hub! I'll definitely be staying here again!

Pros: The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Great amenities and good service overall, making it a nice choice for families. There is also a small mall right beside the hotel, which is convenient for quick shopping or meals.
Cons: The location is quiet with not much spotlight or things to do nearby. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Metro—fine for younger travelers, but not recommended for senior citizens or young children (it's better to call a DiDi instead). Additionally, daily room cleaning details could be improved (like tidying up used cups), there is no self-service dobi (laundry is chargeable), and no free late-night supper/porridge is provided.

This is my third time staying at Gubei Xiyue, and it's just as good as I remember! The facilities, soundproofing, and service are all impeccable. Takashimaya is right across the street, so it's awesome to pop over for a stroll whenever I want. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast was incredibly rich with a fantastic dining environment. The cleaning staff were also super kind and approachable. If I ever need to stay in this area again, I'll definitely choose this place!
The hotel's interior is very modern with new facilities and a large mirror. My check-in experience was great. The best part was the restaurant – delicious food and a beautiful ambiance. I especially loved the noodles! The toppings were fantastic. However, the hotel's cleanliness in some details could be improved. The King Koil mattress, which they boast about, felt rather ordinary. Comfortable, but not amazing. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet spot despite being right next to Liucheng New World, with plenty of great food and drink options nearby. The minibar is refreshed daily with a good variety of drinks.
