We visited Shangri-La for the first time as a family of 7, with both elderly and toddlers, and Bandu exceeded all expectations. The hotel provided in-room oxygen supply to help with altitude, free pickup from the train station, and thoughtful touches like fruit plates, desserts, and even free laundry with dryer — such a rare and appreciated service!
The staff was exceptionally kind and always ready to help, making us feel welcome and cared for. The rooms were fresh, clean, and well-equipped with essentials like water, slippers, and cleaning kits. Plus, the hotel’s location is super convenient, just a 15-minute drive to the train station.
We highly recommend Bandu for families or groups visiting Shangri-La — they truly made our trip special!

Very comfortable and clean room, perfect after a long day. Good location near to the ancient city and convenient for accessing all of the sights outside the city. We had originally planned to stay two nights but made a last minute change to only stay one night - the staff were delightful and understanding, changing our booking and refunding with no fuss. The resident dog at reception is a lovely friendly face

I had a great experience staying at Bandu for 2 nights. The room is clean and tidy. kept some ethnic elements for room deco. The location is superb. Situating inside the old towm makes it conveniently accessible to both the High Speed Train station and many attractions. The staffs at the front desk are super friendly and they helped with advising me on restaurants and attractions in the town. They also provide free pickup service from the train station. which most of the hotels in Yunnan don't.
A gentle remindera to other travellers. Although the hotel room provides oxygen. I stringly encourage everyone to get a portable oxygen bottle.

It was really nice to stay there, and the host was very helpful. They picked us up from the railway station, booked transportation for us, and provided oxygen. Since my mum wasn’t feeling well, they were a great help. It was really nice to stay there, though I realized we didn't take many pictures, only videos.

We spent 2 days in Shangri-la and stayed here in Bandu. From the moment we reached, we were greeted by friendly staffs and even offered to upgrade our room. Room ammenities are top notch. We were even served fruit platter and grean bean soup in the evening when we got back. Breakfast was simple but adequate to kick start your day. All our last day they even offered to send us to the rail stattion for free. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Bandu and will definately recommend our friends to stay when they visit Shangri-la. Thanks Bandu for a memeroable stay. 谢谢

The beds are comfortable. Enough pillows for all. Complimentary services deliver as promised. The projector TV is something I enjoyed very much. Towels are changed daily. Children enjoy playing with Dou Dou.

The room is ideal for families, featuring two separate bedrooms, a single washroom, and a spacious layout that easily accommodates all our luggage. The underfloor heating was a wonderful addition, keeping us warm and comfortable throughout our stay. The oxygen provider in the room also made a noticeable difference, particularly helpful for those adjusting to the altitude.
PS. Toilet’s shower drainage is not very good though.
The host was exceptionally responsive and prompt with replies. Despite our late check-in, both the host and staff went above and beyond to help us settle in comfortably, even assisting with carrying our luggage up to the second floor. They provided breakfast, which was delicious, and thoughtfully packed a light breakfast for us to take along for our journey back to Kunming.
The location is also excellent, situated close to DuKeZong Ancient City and just a short walk to 古城 and other major tourist attractions.
Although we encountered a minor issue, the host managed it promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care for their guests’ experience. Their attentiveness and dedication were truly commendable. Many thanks to the entire team for making our stay so pleasant and hassle-free. Highly recommended!
