Very friendly and helpful owner, feel like coming home. Location was good and near to north gate for cab hailing and pickup.

Lovely hotel in the quieter area of Dukezong Ancient Town. Staff were very friendly, room was extremely large and clean and it had a beautiful view overlooking all the rooftops of the town and even the giant prayer wheel. I would definitely recommend staying here. We visited in winter and the heating was also very good. We hope to return one day.

Review from overseas traveller/english speaker: the hotel is centrally located and the small hill in front of the hotel is seriously not a big deal - not sure why people complain about it here. but it's true that you have to walk from the city gate/use hotel's shuttle service from north gate as cars cannot access the old town.  staff is very kind and helpful (even helped me resolving an issue with my WeChat money transfer). however, nobody speaks english so I suggest to add them on WeChat and chat them on any requests as the app has an instant translator integrated.  only disappointment was the room's window: yes, it is a window. and no, it's definitely not a view! you look straight onto the other house's wall 1m away from your window. Other hotels would declare this room as non-window.  but bathroom/common areas/etc is all clean. the roof top balcony is shared with the terrace of another room which could be awkward as you can see directly into their room.  overall, for price-value, i still recommend the hotel though.

A beautiful inn with very friendly owners. My room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view over the old town. The location was very convenient to walk around Shangri-La. Definitely recommend!
