We love the big clean spacious room with nice view. The room is so big that we can fully open 2 big luggages and still have plenty of space. Located in the heart of the old city, with many shops and restaurants around. The bed is very comfortable, and they provided oxygen machine and humidifier, which are great for high-altitude stay. There is a sofa in the room, too. The operator is very friendly and helpful. He even woke up early to send us to the main road as it will be challenging to lug our luggages along the uneven ancient road. Will stay at this hotel again if we come back to Shangri-La. Highly recommended this homestay. The room is tastefully designed , spacious and comfortable. It even has a smart toilet. Felt like home away from home. The owner, wife and their son are all very helpful, helping us arrange our trip, transportation etc. They will make sure that you got a good deal and give good advice on planning our trip. It is also at a very convenient location to visit other attraction areas, shops and restaurants. We extended another day after a five night stay because we love the place too much and we wanted to have a relaxing day just to fully enjoy the place. The owner upgraded us to an even bigger room with a view to the temple at Guishan park. The owner also picked us up from the Dukezong Ancient town when we arrived and got up early to send us to the train station when we checked out. This hotel in Shangri La truly felt like home! You can tell the owner puts his heart into the place, and it makes all the difference. We stayed for three nights, but honestly, it wasn’t enough. we loved everything about it, especially all the cool tech features. The owner was incredibly kind and even upgraded us to what seemed like the biggest room. The heated bed and floors were a dream, keeping us warm and comfortable, and we could even dry our clothes on them! They also have a free washing machine, which was such a lifesaver. And the breakfast? *So good!* The milk tea was amazing, and there was this soup (I wish I knew the name) that I still think about—it was *that* good. On top of that, the service was next level. The owner personally picked us up from the train station—in a *BMW*, no less! He was beyond thoughtful, even helping us book a trip to Balagezong. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but I’ve never met an owner who goes this far out of his way to make guests feel welcome. If you’re visiting Shangri-La, I can’t recommend this place enough. For the level of service and hospitality you get, the price is more than worth it. You *will not* regret staying here! It just walking distance to all the eateries and the prayer wheel!
