This is a gem that you shouldn’t miss if you are in Africa. Absolutely stunning location, so peaceful and serene. Food and drinks are on a different level given few places around. The culinary experience was amazing, they have 4 restaurants and all of them better than the other. Different cuisines & offerings. The executive chef, Nitai Chand was particularly helpful and very accommodating with our requests. Went out of the way to make this holidays a memorable one. GM, Alfred was professional and graceful, leafing the team to provide such great service and overall experience. Hats off the team, thanks again for providing us with such great experience. I would highly recommend this resort. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We didn‘t stay at the Majlis but wanted to check it out and took a boat over from Shela to go for a walk on the beautiful beach, have lunch and go for a swim. We loved our little excursion - the restaurant staff was very welcoming and the food delicious. The beach is beautiful and you can walk out quite far during low tide. It was perfect for swimming, too and our dhow for the evening cruise picked us up there after which was perfect. The only big issue we encountered were sandflies around the sunbeds above the beach. Within 10 minutes I got bitten more than 30 times and dealt with the after effects for the next 3 weeks, really unpleasant. I did some research after and apparently it‘s a problem in Manda island. So beware and protect yourself well if you attract them easily…

The staff positively fuss over you to ensure you are having a great time... The food is a cut above even the usual expected at 5 stars... The Arabic inspired ambiance was magical.. This is a great getaway for couples...

Spent 5 days at the resort. It’s beautiful and peaceful with exceptional service. The a la carte menu is expectional. Loved the service from Martin at Umi restaurant by the beach he was attentive , patient and gave the best meal recommendations as he handled all my dinners over the course of my stay. The Sushi was fresh and tasty from Umi the beach restaurant with sea views and the Mediterranean restaurant had vast meal options. I Will definetly be back. The sunsets are magical , the trees give the resort amazing ambience making it peaceful. Felt safe as a solo traveler lady as all the staff from housekeeping to the servers were great !

Lovely experience best service especially our waiter martins who happened to cater to us throughout our stay. He was always so attentive to detail it was truly a beautiful experience 10/10. I will definitely recommend majlis for any one planning a trip to lamu

We experienced a serene idyllic stay at Majlis resort. From the first moment the staff showed attentiveness and care. The architecture reflects Swahili traditions and each corner has its own beauty. Martini from Uzi restaurant within the resort was accommodating, gave high quality service and took the time to answer any questions we had about Lamu. Florence, part of reception team showed great hospitality, warmth and ensured any quires we had were resolved. Highly recommend a stay at Majlis!

Martin from Umi Bar was amazing! ..we loooved the experience .10/10!. The pool is also great. Sunset views out of this realm
