This accommodation should come with a BIG warning because there is no vehicular access. Access is via about twenty steep steps, a trail of narrow paths, or a steep hill. Either way, anyone with luggage will struggle. My kind taxi driver helped me when I arrived, on my departure, a jolly man from Manchester heaved my bag to the top of the hill. I was lucky. The hotel itself is unusual. Think of visiting the home of someone who has not bought any new furniture for the last fifty years but has collected knick-knacks and you are on the right track. However, the bedroom was clean and the bed linen was of a high quality. Breakfast is served from 8.00 in the morning and it was delicious. A pot of coffee, decent orange juice, greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts, mini croissants, toasts, fresh bread and cake. There was also cereal if you wanted it. Lots of cats seem to live there but were all outside when I visited. Mine was a last-minute booking for one night because of weather problems affecting the ferries. I'm not sure I would want to stay there for any length of time.

Our recent stay at this charming two-star hotel in Skiathos was a delightful surprise. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, exceeding our expectations for the price point. The hotel's convenient location offered easy access to all the amenities Skiathos has to offer. We were particularly impressed by Fofi 's hospitality and the unexpected treat of a complimentary breakfast, which was particularly abundant. A unique aspect of our stay was the presence of friendly outdoor cats. While this might not appeal to everyone due to the smell, our seven-year-old son and the children from the accompanying family absolutely loved them. It's important to note that the hotel's location within the old city might pose challenges for guests with mobility impairments due to the narrow steep streets and stairs. While the hotel itself may be modest, its prime location, coupled with Fofi kindness, made our stay truly memorable. We would happily return.

We were originally only booked in hotel mato for one night, but unfortunately got caught up in the devastating floods that hit the islands. Fofi, the owner kept us up to date with local news, and when our flights were cancelled, let us stay longer, lucky for us that her oncoming guests cancelled! It’s a lovely, quaint hotel, tucked away up a cobbled hill. Lots of cats, which was fine by us, but maybe not for some. Thank you Fofi for your hospitality in what was an awful time for your beautiful island.

A short but enjoyable stay. We had the amazing room 10 with the best view imaginable of Skiathos Town with a huge private balcony. This was an old family home with a lovely lady as a host right in the old town. Lots of friendly cats greeted you on the outside of the hotel. Breakfast was OK, not particularly big.

Avoid this place. The owner is abusive and mean. No care or customer service. Bizarre given this is what running a hotel is about. There are about 20 stray cats in the garden and hotel at any one time. If you are allergic like my husband this is seriously a worry. Personally I don’t go on holiday to share the area with flea ridden stray cats.

Stayed here for several days recently and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this delightful guesthouse. The proprietor was wonderful, so accommodating and helpful. Basic rooms, but very clean. The housekeeping was absolutely amazing, best I've ever had. Breakfast excellent and substantial.

We are quite disappointed with the service and reliability. We had planned our stay for 7/28 to 7/30 in a 10 person villa three months in advance and had given a deposit to secure the reservation. As soon as we arrived at the property we were informed that the villa was not available because the owner was returning and claimed that they did not tell us earlier so as not to spoil our holiday. Coincidentally, there were three available rooms with insufficient facilities and in very bad condition, in which we were offered to stay at the same cost. There was no willingness to serve as the owners brought us a fait accompli and all they deigned to do, after much pressure, was a meager discount. However, they seemed quite willing to refund our deposit, knowing that it was impossible to find accommodation on the island for 10 people in peak season. It is obvious that this is a scam.

Very warm welcome in this charming hotel with an old family home style decoration. Quiet area, pleasant room with balcony. But many disappointments: bathroom unworthy of the asking price (70 euros on September 30), equipment in poor condition (my wife closed the bathroom door and could no longer get out...!), very uncomfortable bed with springs and we could smell the slats...! Breakfast very neat in appearance but the worst jams I have ever tasted while in Greece they are always excellent, industrial honey which looked like liquid sugar. When paying, the CB machine had just broken down... We won't be back.
