Meworld Hotel Taipei Main Station

I recently checked out early from this hotel due to significant concerns regarding safety and cleanliness. Our room was located next to a fire safety door that was supposed to remain closed at all times. Unfortunately, it was left wide open throughout the day—and likely through the night as well if we hadn't told them about it. To make matters worse, the area surrounding the door was cluttered with trash mixed with sheets, creating an unpleasant and unsanitary sight. It was an extremely disturbing and unsettling experience for my sister, myself, and our children. We immediately notified the front desk and requested a room change, but our request was not accommodated. The staff claimed that housekeeping had likely left the door open by mistake and assured us they would close it. Though shaken by the situation, we decided to stay the night since we checked in late. However, the next day, the door remained open until at least 7 PM, and it was only when we were preparing to leave that it was closed. Feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, we chose to check out early and relocate to another hotel—a decision we've never had to make before. Despite the inconvenience and forfeiting our remaining nights, we felt it was necessary given the hotel's disregard for guest safety and well-being. In addition to the fire safety concerns, the cleanliness of the hotel was subpar. We noticed blood stains on the sheets and comforter, as well as mold in the shower. While we initially chose the hotel for its location and competitive pricing, staying near what seemed to be a dumpster was simply unacceptable. When we expressed our dissatisfaction at check-out, the staff seemed indifferent to our concerns, adopting a "take it or leave it" attitude. Given the numerous issues we encountered, I felt compelled to write this review to warn others who might consider staying here.

The location which is very near to Taipei Main Station makes it super convenient for the oversea travellers, the front desk workers are also very friendly. With this price, I’m satisfy with this hotel and will surely book again for my next visit in Taiwan.

The location is perfect but other than that there’s no reason I will revisit this hotel. The room is not clean enough…

Overall a decent stay for a first time visit to Taipei. The highlight was the central location, otherwise nothing particularly special. Luggage storage and the one friendly woman with glasses that helped with our luggage was great. Unfortunately, the shower was quite filled with mold all around; carpets were not the cleanest; and the TV remote/functionality simply never worked. Like others noted, elevator system is very time-consuming as the hotel is located on the 7th/8th floors of a larger building, but you get used to it and not a big deal. Bed & pillows were neutral and decent enough to sleep. Fridge was nice, and Family Mart right downstairs! Pretty basic but did the job - able to easily traverse the city from main station and surrounding!

It’s a bit difficult to find the hotel because it’s located in the high book building. The noise insulation is poor. You can easily hear people next door talking. Some residents also speak loudly in the corridor and constantly bang the doors. These are all uncontrollable but I can’t believe I heard the staff playing music loudly while cleaning other rooms. The hotel itself is noisy enough. Really disappointing. The upside is it provides clean drinking water so I don’t have to buy bottled water.

This hotel is conveniently located right in front of Taipei Main Station. It's also a short five-minute walk to M4 Exit if you're planning to take the Taipei Sightseeing Bus. The staff are also nice, and the hotel is equipped with all the necessities.
