Taipei Shilin District Hotels

The hotel is located about 1.5km from Jiantan Station, which makes it inconvenient to walk with luggage. It’s best to take an Uber or taxi to the hotel. The room is very luxurious and spacious, with a reasonable price for the area. However, cleanliness did not meet my expectations, as I noticed quite a lot of hair. I believe the room should be vacuumed daily, as it’s normal for people to shed. There was a disturbing white noise throughout the night, possibly from the piping or noise from the room above. It affected my sleep and was quite a setback, as nights should be quiet and the room should ideally be soundproof. Overall rating: 7.5/10.

If you have a car don’t book here . So hard to get in . If you come, which is a small backpack or a small luggage, then it’s fine. Middle of Shilin night market but because it’s middle so no car can get in from market started . Street is small surrounded by ppl, bikes and things / can’t get in anyway. make sure you contact hotel in advance to get the passcode. Otherwise, you will get stuck outside. The room I got was fine, but I’m not sure it will be the same every rooms.  has no window, but everything was new.

The bed itself was quite clean but the sheets were stained. The floors were tainted with some mysterious paint and the walls were scratched. Although unpleasant to look at, they were of no detriment to the overall hygiene. The hairdryer provided was okay, although it sometimes powers off itself. The wifi would occasionally stop working, which was quite annoying. It would last some where between 5-10 minutes, up to twice a day. The location is quite nice as it is located very near the Shilin Night Market. A quick 2 minute walk will lead you straight to the night market. The online customer support team responded very quickly to my inquiries, but seeing as there is no reception there, it may be rather troublesome during emergencies. The staff also likely does not speak English, so it will be best if you know spoken Mandarin or at least know how to read and write Chinese.

I didn't notice it was in a small alley, so I looked for it. I brought a large suitcase, but there was no elevator... I had to climb the stairs. But when I entered the room, it was exactly like the pictures taken by the store, clean and tidy. I was given extra water for staying for two consecutive days, which was very thoughtful. There is also a table inside where you can charge your phone by yourself, which is super convenient. I won’t post the photos because they are the same, but I did take a photo of the charging table, which is great.

Plenty of fresh towels and free in room drinks provided. - Hotel is right next to mrt station, and short walking distance to convenience stores and restaurants. - Some front desk staff may not appear warm, but they did fulfill all my requests.

It was a perfect hotel for our family. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Towels and slippers were good quality too. We loved a fitness gym and the restaurant. Staff was very nice, kind and flexible. It smelled really nice and decor was stylish. MRT Red Line is also very convenient for all places that the first time visitor of Taipei would want to go. Definitely recommended.

As long as you don't get lost at the wrong exit, you can get there without getting lost. I'm directionally challenged, so I was very grateful. Shilin Night Market was farther away than I expected. I thought it would be difficult to eat while walking around, so I wanted to take food back to my room, but the room felt smaller than I expected, so I ended up eating facing the wall. I thought it would be very difficult to use the toilet and shower in the room I used unless I was traveling alone. I was surprised at how big and heavy the bath towels were.

I really liked this hotel. Classy old-school interior design, friendly staff, clean rooms. Well located, easy to navigate through the city and it's in a rather quiet and calm district.

Environment: First of all, the location is very good. Shilin Night Market is right outside the door, and Shilin Subway Station is just across the road. It is also very convenient to walk from the B&B to Yuanshan Scenic Area. It takes about 18 minutes to reach the entrance of Yuanshan Scenic Area. Although it is a B&B, it looks a little shabby from the outside. In addition, because this B&B is entered from the alley on the side of the night market. It is very inconspicuous. It is recommended to use Google map to locate Watsons in Shilin Night Market and enter the iron gate next to it. Hygiene: The hygiene of the rooms and public areas of this store is quite good. There are no old or stained places, and because it is newly renovated, the internal environment is generally ok. At first, I was worried that the pictures on the website would be a bit deceptive. After all, B&Bs are not managed carefully. But in fact, I found that the room was very hygienic and was equipped with disposable toiletries (but because I already brought my own for the island tour, it was useless) Service: Check-in is self-service. After booking the accommodation, an automatic reply will be sent on the App to tell you that you need to add the customer service line. But it is also OK not to add it. They also posted check-in instructions at the door. Just scan the QR code at the door, find your order, fill in the information, and upload your passport. I didn't encounter any problems during the check-in period, so I was in a state of no communication with the service staff😂 But they can also strengthen the instructions, send emails or messages to explain the process, because many people in the comment area don't know that they have to check in by themselves. I especially want to say that I think this homestay is very humane. The neighbors around may be familiar with the owner of this homestay. The uncle selling umbrellas at the door was very enthusiastic and told me that I could ring the doorbell to let the owner check in remotely, which was very heartwarming. And I checked out at the time, and the aunt who came to clean up was a deaf-mute. It's really good to provide job opportunities for the disadvantaged👍

The room was not clean and had hair from the previous tenant. The shower head in the shower room was very poor, and the hot water ran out after a while, making it very inconvenient to take a shower. Only the location is very good, 1 minute walk from the subway station
