Hot spring Hotels in Takayama

This is a popular hotel in Takayama, welcoming many domestic and foreign visitors. There is ample parking space, but you have to pay ¥800 for parking overnight. The breakfast buffet can be added on for ¥1000 per person. The staff at front desk spoke good English. There was a welcome drink coupon which you could use it for beer or a soft drink at the bar, which is totally self-service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, comes with a shower and nice equipment. The onsen is located on the top floor, and for the private onsen it is on a first come first serve basis, you just need to lock it and enjoy the facility. It is family friendly, and visitors can help themselves to a popsicle after having a bath. Amenities such as combs, soap, shampoo, bath robes are provided, you can take it at the lobby.

This hotel is centrally located, just next to the Mercure. You leave your shoes in a locker and walk along the common areas barefooted or wearing socks. It's quite a hassle putting on shoes in the reception area to leave the hotel. The drawback of this system is that some guests remove the shoe cabinet keys when they check out. There's a pair of sandals in the room which you wear when you go to the toilet. This is different from other hotels in Japan where you can wear the sandals around the hotel. A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. You can enjoy two different design hot springs in the men and women replacement system. The atmosphere is like a public bath in a luxury inn. It doesn't seem to be in front of the station. There are also view lounges and foot baths on the top floor. Convenient location and recommended for sightseeing and business. The staff has a level difference depending on the person. Because it is a new hotel, is it possible?

I can't comment on value as this was part of a cycle tour with my bike club (BAC) and Cycling Japan, but my room was really lovely and quiet with a great view. I loved the comfy bed and ergonomic desk chair. The onsen was on the top floor and really lovely with inside and outside pools. The staff was super helpful (the manager helped me find and reserve a wonderful dinner choice - Bistro Kanzo) and breakfast was also really good with local items (not your too-often too many overcooked and deep-fried items). Also, a perfect location for exploring Takayama. This is my 4th trip to Japan and I have stayed in so many accommodations on cycling and hiking tours, so I do have some context. For me, Alpina checked all of the boxes: room, view, staff, breakfast, onsen, location.

The atmosphere of the inn was very good, but to get to the room, I had to change elevators twice, walk a long corridor, and finally take the stairs to the upper floor. It is necessary to walk in the opposite direction each time to go to the public bath and to eat. It is difficult for the elderly and those with weak legs. We used the early bird reservation and national travel support to stay cheaper than usual, so I wondered if it was the furthest room (laughs). I couldn't take a long bath slowly, but the person in charge was just checking the temperature, so when I asked, the open-air bath was 42.9 degrees. A small child with a family shouted ”hot, hot” and left early. After all, I only entered the large public bath once, and after that, I adjusted the temperature of the bath in the room. One more thing, all three hair dryers in the public bath did not work even when I pressed the button, so I used the one in the room. When I asked my wife, she said, ``I couldn't use it at first, but someone else told me to use it by pressing the other switch at the back.'' I couldn't use it, maybe it's my fault, I wanted you to write a manual (sorry if I overlooked it)

The hotel is relatively small and the facilities are fairly complete, but it is relatively old. The location of the hotel is not bad, you can walk from the station under normal circumstances, but it is more difficult to carry luggage. The price is expensive, and the price/performance ratio is not high. There are better choices in Gaoshan. The service is very good, the staff are very enthusiastic and proactive in helping.

Feida Pavilion Flower Fan is a Japanese-style ryokan. The hotel shuttle bus departs from JR Takayama Station West Exit Hotel Bus Station every day from 1400 to 1730. The bus will depart every half an hour. The driver will confirm the name of the reservation customer before boarding. When arriving at the hotel, the waiter will be very warm and courteous. The same waiter received the welcome drink and snacks, then introduced the hotel facilities, and then confirmed the meal time. The food is delicious and delicate, if you are not full, you can eat ramen for a late night. The hot spring water is very slippery and the environment is good. Basically, there are not many hotel guests during the off-season. There are only three or four kittens dipping in the public hot spring. It feels quiet and comfortable. The male and female soups are interchangeable in the morning. If you want to soak all the hot springs, you can try it in the morning. The foot soup is also good.

This hotel provided great service and clean accommodations. I love that hotels in Japan provide pajamas and toothbrushes. This hotel had two public baths. It's nice that they have one bath where the water is not as hot. We had the dinner buffet. It included American and chinese offerings. You receive a ticket for one serving of the Hida beef. I thought the food was good. I like that the portions are small, so you can try a lot of things. We also had the breakfast buffet which included Takayama specialty items too. There is a large souvenir shop in the hotel, so you are able to pick up gifts. I thought the prices are comparable to other gift shops. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the train station. It is a 7 minute walk to the train station, so it's not so bad. They only have two shuttles that go to Takayama Jinya (government house) which is across the bridge from Sanmachi Suji. Otherwise it's at least a 20-25 minute walk. I wish they had more shuttles to that area. There is not much to look at on the way from the hotel to Sanmachi. As Takayama becomes more popular with tourists, most of the hotel staff and store owners are able to communicate in English. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the hotel and would stay there again.

We were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.

Ein sehr nettes Hotel, welches erst seit 1 Jahr in Betrieb ist, und in den Bergen liegt. Die Zimmer sind sehr hell und modern eingerichtet. Dort waren wir für 2 Nächte während unserer Rundreise untergebracht. Das Frühstück war nach japanischer Art und wurde am tisch serviert, was natürlich etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war, aber trotzdem sehr gut war.
