First impressions we were really excited by the building and grounds, check in was good staff friendly, but a few days before i was sent an email informing me of a event in the hotel and advising of noise we sent back we wasn't part of it and was told we would be put as far as possible away. we end up on the second floor facing above the room where the event was held. why ask ?? as we left for the evening it was a dull noise so wasn't worried but 2 hours later on return it was so loud, but we were so tied i had ear plugs in my bag thankfully also we were not asked about mobility the women explained there was no lift and gave us a key to room twelve, IT IS A Hike to the top. there is a phone in the room that keeps lighting up in the dark and when i say lighting up i mean the whole room woke myself once but my husband a few times. The room was clean but in need of TLC chips paint, curtains not hanging correctly dusty bed attention to details needed , very disappointed with the service tray 2 tea bags, 4 sugar, 2 white 2 brown, 1 pack of biscuits and couple of coffee sachet's and 6 uht milk, for £145 a night i would expect at least 2 biscuits 1 each and more in the way of tea and coffee maybe decaf or fruit and possibly a bottle of water each. The iron was broken and a mess ,so we reported that , The shower flooded the bathroom they have tried to botch a fix but doesn't work, no shower mat in the over bath shower . and no blind in the bathroom that meant at night we the neighbours can see you on the loo, we put a towel up the window. The room was cold at night when the heating went off and as we were at the very top of the building it felt strange. As we had left to see family in the evening we didn't use the bar or restaurant. but having to walk though people smoking in the front door way wasn't pleasant at all on exit and return. breakfast was good full English was plentiful, very small offering of pasties and no provisions for allergies or signage. i asked for soya and was given a small jug for coffee. nothing to butter the toast . staff are pleasant from reception to waitress and cleaners who we met when we checked out at 10am, very egger to clean the rooms with everything waiting in the tiny landing i believe actual check out is 11am i wouldn't stay again as to many things put me offf but i have been told there is a good afternoon tea, so when i visit family again i may try
