Livermead Cliff Hotel

We had Sunday lunch today as a group of five and from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The service was exceptional – every member of staff went out of their way to look after us, with a genuine warmth and attentiveness that was so refreshing to experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and it truly felt like how good service should be. It was also such a nice touch that we didn’t have to ask for anything – water and sauces were already on the table, and everything was topped up before we even had to think about it. That kind of thoughtfulness really stood out. The three-course lunch was absolutely first class – beautifully cooked using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully presented. We finished with coffee and mints out on the terrace, which was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon. Couldn’t praise the team enough – thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back!

From our very first meeting with Kerry, we could tell that the Livermead Cliff hotel was on another level to all of the other hotels we had considered on our wedding planning journey. The hotel ticked every box for us – not only is it an excellent location with such stunning views of Torquay (perfect for wedding photography!), but also the function room is a fantastic size and very modern. This altogether allowed a perfect amount of flexibility for our big Greek wedding of around 180 guests. Charles, Kerry, Anthony, head chef Darius and all members of staff at the hotel worked so hard from start to finish. Charles and Kerry answered all of the questions we had along the way and also helped provide us a bespoke wedding menu of Greek food which chef Darius honestly got down to t! The wine provided was also so lovely – you can tell Anthony has great taste and only provides the best quality. The hotel worked so well with all companies involved in the organising of our wedding, and our photos speak for themselves, showing just how stunning the function room looked and how well the room was set up to accommodate all our guests, as well as our eccentric entertainment and high energy Greek dancing. Charles is just such a personable guy and remembering back to how he waited for us at the front of the hotel with our glasses of prosecco on our arrival is such a lovely memory to have and showed us how much care he had put into our wedding. We knew that we were in safe hands with Charles and Kerry – the success of our day speaks volumes about their expertise in organising large events. Even months on family and friends haven’t stopped telling us how amazing the venue was, how much they all loved the food and overall just how well that it was organised. Livermead Cliff, we can’t thank you enough for giving us the most amazing and unforgettable wedding day!

We keep coming back to jazz breaks here - everyone is so welcoming and helpful. The quality of service and catering is extraordinary and excellent value for money. This hotel may only have three stars but it deserves a much higher rating. It really is a pleasure to visit - and the location is wonderful too!

Real luxury and service as standard a real jewel in the crown of Torbay. We are a group of like minded people who live and work in and around the Torbay area. We have formed a Sunday Lunch review club with the aim of finding Quality in food , customer experience, nice surroundings and above all to encapsulate all three. Torbay has many hotels and many establishments that serve a decent Sunday lunch as always we go with an open mind and no preconceptions. The Livermead Cliff Hotel cannot be recommended highly enough, thus far it has ticked all of the points set by the team. Staff Professional, Smart, can do attitudes, polite and attentive. Food absolutely gorgeous on quality (all locally sourced) as described by the manager. Furthermore the culinary imagination sough no bounds, it was exactly what it states on the menu. I would highly challenge anyone to find an establishment that brings professionalism, caring attentiveness and Quality of food in one establishment. The location on sunny day is akin to any area in Europe, beautiful views of the sea and outlying areas across to Torquay. Todays visit was credit to all at the Livermead and if I could give some advice, it would be to those who pass by, or want quality look no further than this gem.

Came here for an organised weekend. The staff are lovely and considering the restaurants were very busy the food was good. But, and it's a very big but, our room was awful. We paid extra for a sea view and were allocated room 73. This is a broom cupboard. The bed is tiny, the shower is so small you cannot bend down to wash your feet and the only sea view you will get is if you bend double. The sink is tiny and awkwardly placed .It really was awful. Also on arrival at 2pm the room was freezing, the heating doesn't come on until 4. Of the two radiators in the room only one was working. We complained but the hotel was full and we could not move. We completed a questionnaire on leaving and have heard nothing from the hotel (over a week later)

Came to stay for a line dancing weekend. The food was great and the service was amazing. My single room could do with a bit of a upgrade, but it did the job. Lovely bar area where we could relax during the day. The function room downstairs was great with a good size dancefloor. Only issue was there was nowhere safe to store bags after we checked out.
