"Big problems at check in but this was actually trip.coms faulty for not confirming booking with hotel. Trip.com happy to take my money first had to complaint against trip.com the compensated me but with a fight. Location good you get breakfast included don't expect anything special. Like no round eggs. Torquay is quite expensive so alcohol and drinks prices at the hotel high. You can walk to marina in 5 minutes. No car parking so if you want parking be prepared to walk"

"Booked for a week. Bedroom and bathroom not cleaned properly all week despite complaining several times. Plenty of dust and cobwebs in certain areas of bedroom, should of had fresh water put in fridge -didn't see any of that ! Only one lift working during our stay & quite often it was overidden by the so called cleaners so plenty of stairs to climb to our room on the fifth floor , Restaurant only open 1 evening during our stay. Very understaffed. Shambolic."

"Wouldn't stay again. Parking at the front was limited,so had to park round the back, this didn't feel safe it was very untidy and run down. We couldn't get into our room, had to wait because of a fault in the system and key cards were not working. Also staying at the hotel were some homeless people, didn't try the cafe bar as it didn't look particularly nice. Once in our room it was small especially the bathroom, the shower was very slippery. The bed was hard and uncomfortable."

"Previously emailed to ask if car parking available and was told yes, car parking on site, arrived to find no car parking and you have to park in a public car park (and pay) up the hill from the hotel. The manager did apologise and waived the £20 early check in fee . Was then advised the England match would be shown in the bar and drinks would be 3 for 2. Got back to the hotel to watch and take advantage to be told by the bar member that the tills were not working and because she couldn’t work out 30% off the drinks they were not offering any 3 for 2 and what did we want her to do about it. Unfortunately poor customer service which isn’t what I would expect and I wouldn’t choose to stay there again."

"Was not looking forward to stay due to reviews but wasn't as bad as I thought, however... Still only 1 lift working, Hardly any staff, check in started but then the staff member went onto another booking and then went and got a colleague to help her, after about 14mins we eventually got our key card. Room clean but felt unclean. Bathroom, opened door and smelt of urine so sprayed with deodorant. Soap dispensers need replacing and shower dispenser empty. Needs good clean around shower door. Only 1 towel for 2 people and 1 what we had was very thin. Asked housekeeping in the corridor for another towel they just looked at me in disgust,asked me what room number and gave me a towel. Pillows quite thin so got 2 more. Air con working but coolest temp set 21.5 and unable to change it. No food in evening which seems to be a long term thing. Didn't do breakfast. Were in bar from 10.30pm and people still checking in but only 1 person to help. At 11pm there was only 1 staff member a day he arrived and then went off somewhere for over 15mins and there was someone trying to check in as self service wasn't working! OK but wouldn't rush back."

"We said here just for 1 night the hotel is in a good location but in need of a good clean and re vamp we are a family of 3 and were placed on the lower ground floor which was quite dark and had a funny smell. There is absolutely no daylight in the room we had and no phone signal at all If I was staying here agin i would ask for a room that’s in a better position"

"The staff were fantastic and very accommodating, quickly and efficiently resolving an issue with the room. The spa was superb, definitely a five-star experience, with outdoor swimming available. However, the cleanliness of the room was quite disappointing despite being moved. The second bedroom was much better but still needed a bit more detailed cleaning, such as black hair in both rooms, dusting where the tea and coffee were kept, and the kettle needed replacing. Possibly, the rooms could do with updating. Nevertheless, the staff were very understanding and accommodating, going out of their way to help."
