Pepem Holistic Experience - Peaceful Retreat Near Tulum

The huts are very nice and very a pleasant place to be. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. It’s very fun being walking distance to a bunch of cenote’s. The staff were wonderful especially Adan the chef and his team. His food was amazing. He made it hard to go out and explore for food because it was so great here. A tip, don’t ask for anything specific, just let him make what he’s feeling. For every meal. That being said the Tulum area is sort of an extension of Cancun. Just kind of one resort after another. Not a lot of real Mexican culture. It’s definitely pretty but very busy and touristy. Pepem and its surrounding area ended up being our only area we really enjoyed. The myan ruins were interesting.

We found the overall atmosphere, particularly from the staff, to be very relaxed and uncluttered. The standard of accommodation, facilities and food is truly excellent. The kitchen staff are amazing. There are plenty of activities to do in this local area but really, there is also no need to leave the hotel. One point that we hope the management will address is the morning restaurant music is too loud and the petrol leaf blower around the restaurant are not calming. However Hotel Pepem and its staff served as a perfect stopover for a few nights whilst travelling back from Belize. As Belize is a regular destination for us, Hotel Pepem will be part of the adventure in future. Strongly recommendable!

My wife and I stayed at Pepem for our baby moon and it was a really nice relaxing experience! We really appreciated the layout, decor, and accents of the whole place. You really achieve that relaxing feel away from all of the crowds and busy tourism. The staff was also top notch! They always went out of their way to make sure your time there spent was at it's best in every possible way. We really enjoyed the fact the place is never over crowded as there is only a certain amount of rooms there. Being close to a lot of the cenotes is a very convenient as well! It was nice being able to drive out to the main strips and beaches, but then come back to our relaxing resort. We do recommend renting a car or suv as they are pretty long dirt roads. It will end up adding up to the same amount if not a lot more if you get a taxi every time you want to go out. Also, keep in mind it is in a jungle so if you're not a fan of camping or the outdoors then this might not be the place for you. The only real complaint we had is that their food menu is very limited and they seemed to run out everyday of most options on the menu. So we were stuck eating what they did have that day which isn't much. So my wife and I tried to eat out or grab food before coming back most of the time. Other than that, our experience here was very enjoyable. Again, kudos to the awesome staff!!

What a majestical place! As soon as we arrived we were received with open arms from the wonderful staff. The tranquility of Pepem was instant. The time we spent there was getting back to nature. I can’t say enough about how our time there rejuvenated us. The natural setting in the jungle was unique. The cabins have a warm feeling and the pools have character. Lovely place. We will be back for sure!

TL;DR: Pepem is an absolute gem! From the stunning location to the breathtaking facilities, unforgettable experiences, and the incredibly kind staff—everything was perfect. My husband and I stayed at Pepem for a five-day getaway, and it exceeded every expectation. The property is absolutely stunning—our villa was luxurious, with a 180-degree view of the jungle that made us feel completely immersed in nature. It was so nice to fall asleep every night to the sounds of the jungle. The facilities are truly world-class. The open-air restaurant alone is worth a visit, with a beautiful ambiance that adds so much to the experience. The pool, yoga shala, and multiple quiet spots for relaxation all made it feel magical. Plus, the property is just a short walk or bike ride away from some of the best cenotes in the area. Pepem also has bikes you can rent to visit the cenotes at no extra cost. We had two massages, a romantic dinner, and a floating breakfast and each experience was crafted with such care. The romantic dinner was so beautiful. The staff set up an intimate dining space with candles, rose petals, and music. The food was some of the best we had in Mexico, with Chef Pamela and Eibi going above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable evening. The next morning, we had a floating breakfast in our villa’s private pool. Eibi went all out to make it perfect—checking in on us, refilling our glasses, and creating a beautiful atmosphere. I can’t recommend both the romantic dinner and floating breakfast enough! The entire team, especially Pedro, Allen, Eibi, and Pamela, made our stay feel extra special. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel like family, and by the end of the week, we were genuinely sad to leave. If we ever return to Mexico, Pepem will be our first choice!
