Hotels in Chingeltei, Ulaanbaatar

The place is clean and warm. Bed’s really comfortable. There are curtains for privacy and the lockers are huge which I really like a lot. Hot water works well in the shower. The toilets could be a little quite small though but manageable. And there’s free use of the washing machine as well. They have a kitchen where you can drink coffee/tea for free. And the host brings bread for breakfast :) Since there’s also a sofa in the kitchen, i was very happy that i was able to meet fellow travelers to hangout with. Location of the hostel is really good. It’s on the 6th floor of the same building of KFC on Sambuu st. It’s near a lot of restaurants, convenience stores, and the main touristy places. The host Sonny was really kind, warm, helpful, and friendly. He lent me his jacket when i went for a day tour to Terelj National Park because it was cold that day and I don’t have enough thick jackets. His brother Bayaraa was also very welcoming when he picked me up at the airport at almost midnight. Thank you again for the hospitality and will definitely stay here again when I come back in Mongolia. :)

The location is very convenient. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to Ulaanbaatar Railway Station. There are many large shopping malls within 15 minutes' walking distance. The hotel is very similar to domestic guesthouses. The facilities are relatively old, but the rooms are not small. There is no elevator and you need to go upstairs by stairs. Breakfast is not a buffet, but I personally feel that the quality is OK, as shown in the picture. This price is good value for money in Ulaanbaatar. I will consider staying here again.

Fortunately, the youth hostel I picked randomly had four compatriots staying for a long time, so I found the feeling of talking (as I only know Chinese and fake English), and the fellow villagers also recommended good restaurants. I walked from the train station, looked at the street view (there is not much scenery on this road), and then searched according to the navigation, but I couldn’t find it. I asked various passers-by and shop assistants and finally found it. In fact, the location is very good, just to the left of KFC. Walk into the coffee shop, take the elevator on the right hand side directly, sit on the 7th floor, facing the police station across the road, and then climb a flight of stairs to the glass door. I stayed on the right side, and the kitchen was right at the entrance. It is recommended to choose a four-person room with a wooden door. The two-person room I saw was all curtained, and the sound and light insulation was a bit insufficient, and the space for organizing luggage was not as good as that of a four-person room.

This is my third time in Ulaanbaatar. I used to stay near the square, but this is my first time here. The hotel is great, the service is satisfactory, and it is super warm. The front desk also gave me breakfast, which is nice. The room is clean and bright, the gym has everything, and there is coffee bene downstairs. Helped me book a taxi, which is very thoughtful. There are Korean restaurants, Chinese restaurants, Indian restaurants, local restaurants, and convenience stores everywhere to satisfy all kinds of stomachs.

The room is large, the bedding is comfortable but the towels are not absorbent enough. The view is good on a high floor and the city center can be reached on foot. There is a convenience store in the lobby. The room card needs to be operated by the staff the next day before it can be used.

烏蘭巴託最好的酒店，步行到gobi店和國營百貨都非常近，附近非常多餐廳，逛吃極為方便。房間很乾凈，打掃也很認真，房間裏有很舒服的香氛。備品都準備齊全。早飯豐盛且可以自選且可以送到房間。不過很不好意思因為在烏蘭巴託每天都吃好多東西最後一天早飯沒吃完😅我們從烏蘭烏德坐火車到烏蘭巴託，我老婆在火車上暈車腸胃不適，前台小夥子幫我們電話聯繫醫生來幫我們，在異國感受到了人情温暖，感恩。下次來烏蘭巴託還會選擇這裏。

Hygiene: It looks good when you enter the room, but many details are actually not clean - 1. Both mouthwash cups are dirty (there are traces of being burned and melted by cigarettes, maybe some guests use the cups as ashtrays?); 2. The glass cups in the mini bar are obviously not cleaned; 3. The toilet area is not mopped; these are all obvious stains. Environment: The whole environment of Ulaanbaatar is very windy and sandy, and the cars on the road are dirty, so the hotel is also very dusty, about 25 minutes walk from Genghis Khan Square. Service: I don't know if the English communication is not smooth, the service is disappointing - 1. On the first day, the front desk asked us whether we would eat breakfast in the room or go down to the restaurant. We said we would go down, but they knocked on the door and sent it up at 8 o'clock (breakfast was a Western set meal); 2. On the second day, we chartered a car to go out before 9 o'clock, so we told the front desk that we hoped it would be sent to the room at 8 o'clock. As a result, when we went down at 8:20, he said he forgot... After waiting for 5 minutes, we hurriedly ate in the restaurant; 3. The staff who cleaned the room also forgot to give us toiletries... But when we checked out, the front desk helped us use the software to call a car to take us to the train station. Regarding the trip to Mongolia, we chartered a car to go to Terelj National Park. There was a horse riding project on the roadside. It was originally said that each person would pay 25,000 yuan for a round trip (2 hours). There were two of us, but in the end they said that the total was 150,000 yuan (including the person who took us on horseback riding, which was also included in our expenses). We agreed, but the guy leading the team couldn't tame one of our horses, so we only rode for 20 minutes in total and took the car back. In the end, they said they would charge 100,000 yuan... In such a place, we considered ourselves unlucky to encounter such ”barbaric” behavior. The 20-kilometer road on the return trip was blocked for 3 hours (the tour guide said this is a daily routine in Ulaanbaatar). There are many Koreans here, and the chain convenience stores are all Korean GS25 and CU. In general, if your vacation is very precious, Mongolia is not worth traveling.

This is my second visit. It is clean and close to the city center, so it is convenient to stay. There are convenience stores, markets, restaurants, and even a private currency exchange nearby, so it was very comfortable.
