Southgate Motor Inn

I stayed two nights here. I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep as the room looked out onto a busy road and was right opposite the hospital, but surprisingly they were the best nights sleep I had on my trip. It's within walking distance of everything you need, including the zoo, and WEKA (which you have to visit) is only a short drive away. Unfortunately our room was next to the managers and I have no idea what she was doing but there was banging each night until about 9pm

Very clean and comfortable premises inside and out, very friendly and helpful hosts. The beds were nice and comfortable and we loved the spa bath. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Wellington. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

The Asain manager is extremely rude. Does not understand the booking fee process, When questioned told me incorrect information on arrival. Rang and was told 1 to 3 working days for refund. When followed up he told me he would f**k me wife and f**k my daughter. Do NOT stay here.

Room was not upto standards also the receptionist lady was very rude. I do not recommend this place to anyone. The way she treated me and my family like trash was appalling. Only good thing about it was that it’s straight across the road from the hospital. But other than that I give this place a 0 out of 10. Much better service at a motel in the city for much cheaper and better friendly services.

Do NOT STAY, I called to cancel booking and the owner male manager was so rude on the phone. He cut me off and when I called back he was obnoxious and disgusting. I will also be making a formal complaint to motel association and doing a social media review too. This is not how hospitality should be. We will never get ahead in nz .. no stars!

We had booked this hotel 2 weeks prior to my son having surgery. From the moment we arrived we were met straight away with arrogance and just plain rude male manager who did not welcome us at all. We had driven awhile and just wanted to get settled in. He then continued to demand a bond of $200 on the spot and showed us a paper (pointing and yelling at the paper) of the recent things that have been damaged in the rooms from previous people who have stayed. He kept shouting and pointing at us "you pay bond now" unprofessional management and highly rude we left and told him no thank you we will not be shouted at like that. We were so upset we had been met with this disgusting attitude and behaviour. We went down the road to the other hotel hoping they still had availability. Which they did. Please don't stay here especially when there is a much more pleasant hotel with lovely management and staff just down the road.
