Xi'an Xincheng District Hotels

Very good location, walk a few steps to Zhonglou metro station exit D cross to exit A to get many restaurants. Can reach bell and drum tower in a short walk. Nice breakfast. Room with space and clean. Grocery shop in front of the hotel. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. They allow to store our lugguages for 2 days during our visit to Luoyang. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing experience staying at Novotel Xian hotel! From arriving at the hotel we were met at the entrance and our bags were taken to the reception. The women working behind reception were very welcoming, friendly and spoke great English. The hotel smelled very fresh, the room was very large, clean, modern and had lots of amenities. This hotel is excellent even to western standards, and I would expect to pay around £300 a night for this room back in London but here in Xian it was really cheap! Location is also excellent, few minutes walk from the main centre. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough!

Staff were friendly, and allowed us to check in earlier when we arrived and acceded to our request for our 2 rooms to be beside each other. We booked the smallest room for single guests, and room size was just nice for one person. It may be a bit small for couples or families. The staff were also ready to help change a room when the bidet in the first room wasn’t working. Cleanliness can be improved as we found food crumbs on the table. Other than that, location was ok and within walking distance from Exit D of Zhonglou station on Line 2. Also walking distance to Huimin Street. Breakfast was good and they also provided free drinks, coffee and alcohol at certain timings of the day. They are also generous with water and provide Evian water in the rooms. Will definitely come back to stay if we come back to Xi’an.

I randomly picked a hotel on Ctrip and was pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff provided excellent service; they were very friendly, and check-in was exceptionally quick. The hotel lobby is also quite spacious. I was even given two complimentary breakfasts, and I noticed their comprehensive anti-fraud information. The staff also recommended local attractions, specifically Yongxingfang. I went there, had a great time, and the local snacks were delicious. Right next to the hotel, Zhongshan Gate offers access to the city wall, so I took the opportunity to explore it. Walking along it, I truly understood why it's celebrated as the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall existing today – it was incredibly impressive. With 18 picturesque city gates, it's definitely worth a visit. Later, feeling quite tired, I took a taxi back to the hotel using the business card the front desk had provided. Once back, I rested in my room. Upon check-in, I had also received two complimentary bottles of water. The room itself features a lovely Chinese-style decor, is very spacious and roomy, feeling not at all cramped. It appeared newly renovated and was spotlessly clean. The mattress was incredibly comfortable, which I truly appreciated. The next morning, I went to the fifth floor for breakfast. It was a Chinese buffet offering a variety of home-style dishes, which were quite good and delicious! The hotel's location is fantastic, being very close to the subway station, making getting around incredibly convenient. It's served by both Line 4 and Line 1. Line 4, in particular, gets you to popular attractions like Datang Everbright City, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Datang Furong Garden in just 5-6 stops. It's genuinely super convenient! Highly, highly recommended!

The hotel was good overall. The receptionist spoke English, and the room had a nice, functional design. Although my room didn’t have a window, the glass panel simulating one worked surprisingly well. The shower was also modern and convenient. The location is ideal for visiting Xi’an. However, I can’t give a perfect score because it failed in its most important function: providing rest. The walls are very thin, and each room has a large projector, which creates a lot of noise. Unfortunately, I slept very poorly. That said, for the price it’s really amazing value. If you plan to sleep late or don’t mind noise, it’s hard to beat the quality for the cost. But if restful sleep is important to you, I would avoid it.

This is an interesting hotel within the Renmin Square precinct. It is not actually a 'people's square' in the conventional sense but an official precinct of grand sandstone and marble buildings erected in 1957. The buildings are majestic but the interiors are a little dated and tired. Our rooms were well furnished with very comfortable beds, well-functioning heating, air conditioning and bathrooms. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and assisted us with tourist information and transport. Breakfasts were good with a reasonable variety of dishes. Rooms were suitable serviced each day. I liked the quiet atmosphere of this hotel, its landscaped surroundings, and its close proximity to the CBD. It took us 20 minutes to walk to the Bell Tower and 30 minutes to the ancient city wall. Some of the staff spoke fluent English which was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Checking in at about 2.30am was a breeze as the counter was manned 24 hours a day. The room was nice and cozy, though a little small and windowless. Nevertheless, it was well equipped, and the cleaning lady was very nice to give me an extra set of shaving razor the next morning to use since I checked in late the previous night. The counter staff was also very helpful to allow me to store my luggage at the concierge since my flight was late at night. The location of the hotel was excellent to get around, being near the subway or metro station. The hotel food for breakfast was very good with sufficient varieties for selection. Very satisfied with the stay at the hotel.

Fantastic, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very clean, very pretty, and very carefully decorated. The room is very comfortable, the bed is perfect, with air conditioning and a smart toilet. They have taken great care with every detail, offering toiletries and even hair conditioner. We loved it. The breakfast was very well presented, but a little sparse (too much bread), the only thing that could be improved.

I had a wonderful 2-night stay at Skanhem Hotel Xi'an. Upon check-in, the hotel offered a complimentary room upgrade with full window views overlooking the city, just a short walk from the iconic Bell Tower. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Larger room size compared to regular hotels with similar prices. Breakfast included with majority local chinese flavours with some Western food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, making check-in smooth and pleasant. The location is excellent with nearby metro, surrounded by lots of shopping and food area. The location is perfect for exploring central Xi'an. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to others visiting the city.

Of all the hotels I stayed at during my Hexi Corridor trip, this one offered the absolute best service, bar none. Its location near the Bell Tower is also incredibly convenient, putting all major Xi'an attractions within easy reach. On my last day, I was really cutting it close for my high-speed train departure, and the front desk staff went above and beyond, thoughtfully helping me retrieve my forgotten belongings. This level of attention to detail and service truly deserves high praise. The hotel's buffet breakfast was standard for a four-star establishment, offering a comprehensive selection, and is definitely worth indulging in. On a side note: Before checking out, we ordered a three-person set meal from the hotel's restaurant. Not only was the 'Hulu Chicken' delicious, but the portions were also incredibly generous. Also, if you prefer a room with a bathtub, you can specify this when speaking with the front desk.
