This Japanese-style room was booked for a friend. The room layout is similar to the twin room. There are sliding doors to separate the entrance, balcony and room. The bathrooms are designed on both sides of the balcony. The difference is the size of the Japanese-style room. It's bigger. There is a sliding door in the middle that can divide the room into two rooms. The bathroom is also Japanese-style dry and wet separation. The twin room is an ordinary Western-style bathroom. Everything in the room is new and clean~ and there are two thermos bottles when you check in. Filled with hot water and ice water respectively, very considerate! The photos are respectively breakfast → rice balls and snacks in the afternoon → welcome refreshments during check-in~

We were a bit pressed for time, so the experience must have been somewhat affected due to personal reasons. Overall, it's okay. It feels more like a family-style B&B, not the style of staying in a hotel in the past. The price is right Let’s go to the hotel next door for dinner. The sukiyaki is pretty good. It’s hard to pinpoint the feeling of bathing in a hot spring in summer, but they will arrange a private bath time of half an hour.

It's very beautiful and the service is good. The heavy snow affected the schedule. The store helped find a car repair shop to buy snow chains, install them, and shovel the snow. I'm very grateful. The food is also very delicious, recommended. The only drawback is that the bathroom and bathroom are a little cold.

This is a traditional Ryoken which is very comfortable, friendly and welcoming. It has Onsen on site, and other baths are a short distance away. There was a very clear explanation of what baths are available for male and female bathers at what times. A traditional dinner is served in a private dining area about 3 minutes away. Breakfast is served on site, with about 12 individual plates. Both meals were wonderful. Fellow guests were both Japanese and foreign visitors- it felt both very authentic and very welcoming. Highly recommended.

One of the best ryokan experiences I've had. My group stayed for one night and was able to experience 4 of the 6 onsens available to us. The men's outdoor onsen was beautiful, and they had these awesome waterfall showers. There was even a cold bath which is something that we had not seen too much of in other onsens. The breakfast platter they served was a beautiful arrangement of traditional Japanese dishes, all of which was delicious. Apparently the food is prepared starting at 4AM, and you can really taste the effort put into the food! But the best part had to be the hosts and their attentiveness. They were both extremely helpful when explaining all of the rules of the ryokan, and they even helped us putting on and tying the yukatas as we had not done so before. I'd love to come back here again the next time I visit this area!

Our group stayed at this ryokan after snowboarding the day before. We absolutely loved everything about it here! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind in explaining everything to us in Japanese/English. Location: - Brief walk from the station to get to the ryokan. - Short walk to a sister location nearby, where you can also use their onsen. The ryokan itself has two onsens split by gender (switches based on time), and groups are allowed to reserve a time slot for private use of the onsen. Check your reservations to make sure you have dinner and breakfast included! They had a variety of dishes for breakfast (tamago, grilled fish, fruit/yogurt, fresh juices, natto, braised dishes). My friend and I had never worn yukatas before, so the hostess taught us! Again, I cannot emphasize how much we enjoyed staying here as they had the best hospitality throughout the two weeks we spent in Japan. Tips: - Book early! - It was pretty cold while we were there, so make good use of the kotatsu. - When we arrived to check-in, I think a few other guests had already checked-in before us. There are a few activities where they asked us for a preferred time slot (i.e. private onsen time, breakfast, etc), so be sure to check-in on time or contact them if you have any scheduled plans.

I decided on this hotel after referring to the reviews here. It was a very good inn, just as the previous reviews had said. Therefore, I would like to say that you should read the previous reviews first (lol), but I would like to add a few things... (1) It is nice that you can reserve the indoor bath with open-air bath for free. I think there are quite a few guests who are with someone who needs assistance or with small children, and would appreciate a private bath. You can enjoy the famous hot springs without any worries. (2) The breakfast was very delicious. There were small things such as welcome drinks and sweets, tea and sweets in the room, late-night snacks, and free coffee in the lounge, and the hospitality was overflowing. (3) It is about a 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station. They also provide a shuttle service. (4) It is also a 3-minute walk from a convenience store.
