We are very impressed with the hotel service.The hotel makes travel convenient and smooth.There are pick-up and drop-off fromYudanaka Station to the hotel and drop-off at Monkey onsen.The hotel is in the good location,in the heart of Shibu Onsen, beutiful view of the mountian and river in front.The beer, white and red wine in the refrigerator in the room are free.The onsen is not very big but clean.Dinner and breakfast are fresh and delicious. Shibu Hotel is a very good hotel,worth staying.

It's a 10 mins walk uphill from train station so maybe better to try to contact them for a complimentary pick up. The place is super grand and 2 onsens. A Instagram worthy one that the males and females get to use it at different timings. The shower stuff in the onsen are mediocre though. No fancy facial stuff for women unlike some other onsens at this price range. We had breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights. And well worth it. But you have to follow a fixed timing and we felt a bit rushed but otherwise it was really great and service perfect. We had one the biggest rooms I believe Room 716. Had a sitting area and also a sleeping area. Easily fits 8 persons. We were only 2. In the day they kept the futons and brought it out at night. Towels changed every night. There is a van that goes straight to Mount Yokoteyama ski resort. The receptionist didn't seem to know about it but you could try to Google. It was a complimentary ride to and fro if you bought the lift tickets. Took only like 30 mins to get there. You can get rentals at hotels there.

We were pampered by this hotel the moment we checked in! Glad to have stayed in Sakaeya and the inhouse Onsen is superb!

The boss service is very intimate and thoughtful! The room is very clean, the outdoor hot spring, the environment is very good

It's close to Yudanaka Station. If you go about 200 meters from the hotel, there is a bus stop on the Yudanaka side. Easy transportation to Shigagogen Ski Resort and Snow Monkey There is a convenience store near 100 meters, and there are not many doors in the surrounding shops, so there is nothing to see But there's plenty of hot springs in the hotel, and there's an amusement room. There's a massage machine, so you can have fun inside. The food is buffet, but I'm so delicious at dinner. I can't forget that you can eat beer and sake in unlimited wine for dinner !! 👍 Most of them are family-oriented and friends, so there are many elderly people. We were there in February, it was minus outside, but the room had a heater and air conditioning. Not frozen. The hotels have three onsens, one shared for men, one for women and one private. They also give you the key to 9 public onsens in the village. The hostess can pick you up or take you to the nearest station, she also took us to dinner and to Monkey Park. Breakfast is traditional. And in general, the hotel is traditional Japanese, I advise anyone who is interested in staying in a traditional hotel. But keep in mind that you need to sleep on the tatama and wear slippers, they are not allowed in the shower, and you also need to wash in the onsen.

The hotel is very convenient. There is a ski locker downstairs opposite the ski resort. It is also convenient to go to all the major ski resorts, and there is a bus stop not far from the door. The hotel is still very warm overall, the hot spring is very clean, and it is also the activity venue of the photographer club, with many beautiful photography works. The room is not small, the bed is comfortable, but the bathroom is a little small. There are not many places to eat nearby, but the hotel's breakfast and dinner are not bad, but you need to make an appointment in advance (dinner must be made at 6:00 a day in advance), and there is a bar on the second floor where you can make tea or grind coffee by yourself. Overall, I am very satisfied, except that I eat less. The waiter at the front desk is a little cold and sticks to the principle (for example, if you go to make an appointment for the next day's dinner at 18:10, you will not be allowed to make an appointment...) I will consider staying here next time!
