The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from the JR station, making it incredibly easy to get around. It's also very close to the morning market, and attractions like Mount Hakodate are easily reachable on foot. Being a newly opened hotel, the facilities are modern and the hygiene is excellent. As a Sheraton property, the quality is guaranteed. While the room isn't very spacious and the bed is a bit on the smaller side, it was perfectly fine for a solo traveler. The front desk staff were professional, efficient, and very welcoming.

Facilities: This hotel was surprisingly luxurious! They even have a free Oomori hot spring bath to enjoy. Cleanliness: Spotless. Japanese hotels, regardless of their size or age, consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness, and this one was no exception. Location: Easily accessible from JR Hakodate Station – just walk straight ahead. You can even spot the hotel's sign from the station with a telephoto lens, haha! While it's about a 15-20 minute walk, the path is completely flat, making it easy to pull luggage. If walking isn't ideal, especially in winter, it's just one tram stop away (from Hakodate Station Mae to Matsukaze-cho). Service: Excellent! I lost the lens ring for my action camera, and the front desk staff went out of their way to help me search my room for it. Although it wasn't found (😅), I was still incredibly grateful for their effort.

The Smile Hotel Premium Hakodate Goryokaku is a typical Japanese business hotel, so although the photos of the rooms may look as though the rooms are reasonably spacious, in reality it’s just a typical business hotel, with minimal space.  While this should not be a big issue for many guests, if you’ve not experienced it before, be ready for a rather space limited experience.  Having said that, the room was quite clean and apart from some scuff marks on the walls, it presented quite well.  It’s also important to note, that since it’s a business hotel the bathroom is quite small, with the bathroom wash basin protruding into the bath tub & shower area and the toilet was clearly designed for significantly smaller users.  Apart from changing towels, providing new slippers and replenishing coffee & tea supplies, there was no servicing of my room over the duration of my 3-night stay.  This is all normal, so be ready for it. The biggest annoyance was that there was no air conditioning available during the period I stayed.  This is hotel policy at this time of the year, and the management clearly think that guests have no right to control the temperature, and therefore enjoy some level of comfort in their room.  Because of this, on my first night the room temperature was approximately 25°c (although I couldn’t turn the air conditioning on, the control unit displayed the actual room temperature), which when combined with the fact that the bed has an arctic standard duvet (or futon - whatever you want to call it), the temperature of the room was NOT conducive to restful sleep.  When I enquired about this the next morning, the front desk clerk bluntly said “open the window”, which of course I had tried to do during the night, but for some reason the handle to open and close the window had been removed, making it impossible to open the window.  The clerk kindly offered to go to my room and open the window (presumably using a special tool) once I had left the room for the day, which he did.  The difference in room temperature was quite noticeable when I returned that the evening, but why this policy in the first place, and the belligerence and attitude of management about guest comfort is beyond me. The other issue was the WiFi, which was patchy and unreliable on my floor.  The only way I could connect any of my devices (2 phones & 1 tablet), was to go to the lobby, connect and then return to my room.  Once a connection had been established, I was able to reconnect whenever I returned to my room, however the strength of the WiFi signal varied considerably when making calls using various apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Line and FB Messenger) and therefore the call stability was unreliable with calls frequently dropping out.  When I mentioned this to front desk staff, they offered to reset the WiFi on my floor, however it made little difference. The above matters (air conditioning and WiFi) are all things that are taken for granted these days and are expected of any reasonable hotel, so to experience the difficulties outlined indicates to me that the hotel management is not really serious about guest satisfaction or comfort. Draw what conclusions you will from this review, but from my perspective, it’s is unlikely I would stay at this hotel again when I next return to Hakodate.

A highly recommended hotel. I stayed here once ten years ago and I still remember it. It was still very good to stay here again this time. The room was large and clean. After checking in, you can go to the nearby supermarket to buy ingredients and cook them yourself. If you need a sukiyaki pot, you can borrow it from the front desk. The hotel is only 2 minutes away from the beach. The red brick warehouse is about 10 minutes away. The most recommended is the morning market breakfast in the hotel, which is very rich and you don’t have to get up early to eat.

The biggest advantage of JR Inn is undoubtedly its location—being directly connected to the JR Station made traveling incredibly convenient and efficient. It’s hard to beat that level of accessibility, especially for those with tight schedules or early trains. However, I was disappointed to find a flea in the bed during my stay. This was unexpected and concerning, as cleanliness is a top priority when choosing accommodation. I hope the hotel takes stronger measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. With such a prime location, JR Inn has great potential, but attention to hygiene and room maintenance is essential to match the convenience it offers.

The hotel location is good, less than 5 mins walk to JR station. You can park the car for 800 yen for a whole day and can drive in and out as many times you like. Room is big. There is some dust on one of the pillow. There is plastic wrapping on the TV remote, which is quite hygiene.

DDean MauriceWe booked this hotel for a special stay for our Christmas Day abroad and it did not disappoint. The rooms are cozy, spacious and quiet with very comfy beds. We appreciated the entry way with the closet and shoe rack. We also appreciated the shower with great pressure, the large sink counter and the Japanese style toilet. There was also a good amount of toiletries provided. We had Japanese style pajamas, slippers for the room, sandals to go around the hotel in and even slippers specifically for the toilet area. The room has a large TV and you can connect to it with an HDMI cable or screencast but we could not figure out how to screencast. The hotel primarily caters to Japanese so the important stuff was in English but the little things like the remote control and temperature control were not. We booked our stay with the buffet dinner and breakfast and for our stay it seems that all the greatest hits for Japanese cuisine were out. For dinner they had a steak grilling station, a BBQ scallop station, a sushi chef, crab dumplings and all kinds of accompaniments. For the dessert they had an array of tasty sweets but we enjoyed the macarons and Hokkaido ice cream the most. The breakfast was equally fantastic with a miso soup station, all kinds of sashimi, black pork dumplings, fried chicken and all kinds of crowd pleasers. There is a juice station and a coffee machine that makes all kinds of drinks so we were very pleased with the meals. We appreciated the plates and small dishes that allowed for small portions so we could pretty much try everything. Some items at the buffet did run out and these were specifically the small dishes - it is worth going early for breakfast and dinner because some items are not replenished and I found quite a few of these very delicious! There isn't much around the hotel other than a 7-11 and a small botanical garden across the bridge but it is definitely a hotel meant to stay in and enjoy. We went to the onsen at night and in the morning and really enjoyed the outdoor bath which was sea facing. At night you could hear the waves and see the stars and during the day you could enjoy the beach and mountain view. The onsen baths have a variety of temperature pools and saunas and good bath products. There is a machine that dispenses a few pop flavours, cold tea and mineral water in the change room. There was a variety of self care products available in the change rooms as well like toothbrushes and razors. Our room was very cozy after our bath and we found that the temperature for the hotel was possibly centrally controlled and not adjustable according to Google translation. It was set at a balmy 24 but we did figure out how to turn it off and got a comfortable night's rest. I wasn't a big fan of the hard toothbrushes that were provided mainly because the toothbrush used a coating rather than toothpaste which makes them truly single use. The hotel offers quite a few amenities outside of the onsen area but the onsen was the highlight for us. They have a lounge area with lots of seats looking out to the sea near the front desk, a separate restaurant from the buffet restaurant, a souvenir shop that sells drinks too and luggage storage. We aren't sure if there are multiple floors with laundry machines but the one laundry room we did find only had one machine so this might not be a hotel to do your laundry at. The hotel is easily accessible from both the train station and airport. From the train station you can take a bus or the tram which would take about 30 minutes and from the airport there are some dedicated busses that will take about 15 minutes. The bus station and tram station closest to the hotel is Yunokawa Onsen. This was a great stay for us and we felt one night here was perfect. There is a lot to see in Hakodate and had we stayed longer we would have chosen a more economical option but this truly was a special treat for us.

WWee LoonLocation is the king. Booked a room that can see the canal right off the window for a peaceful view. Otaru is a small town and most of the places are within walking distance. Stroll along the Otaru canal right in front of the hotel was great! Room itself was normal, and we have one advice for the hotel to just remove the aged cupboards in front of the beds since nobody really needs them to give more walking space and luggage space. Onsen on the top floor was decent though not of the best, offering a good view of the canal. Service at the hotel was normal. Those who have cars will need to pay 1200 yen for one day of parking (will need to inform hotel to reserve the parking space when you go out). Everybody, regardless you are going to onsen or not, needs to pay 150 yen onsen tax when you check in.

BBurinsHotel Enoe Hakodate I recently had a great stay at Hotel Enoe Hakodate and would highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for a convenient and comfortable stopover. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. Everything from the lobby to the room felt well-maintained and spotless, which is always a top priority for me. The location is a major plus. It's perfectly situated for a quick stopover, making it easy to access local sights and transportation. I found it to be a great base for exploring the area without any hassle. The room size was surprisingly good. It felt spacious and wasn't cramped at all, giving me plenty of room to relax and organize my things. Finally, the breakfast was a standout feature. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in a while, with a fantastic variety of delicious options that really hit the spot. Overall, Hotel Enoe Hakodate offers a clean, well-located, and comfortable experience with a fantastic breakfast to boot. It's a solid choice for anyone traveling through the area.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is directly opposite the exit of JR Hakodate Station and just across the bus stop area. Basically, all Hakodate attractions can be reached by bus. It takes about 15 minutes to walk back to the hotel from the cross street. If you are too lazy to wait for the streetcar after eating clown burgers for dinner, you can take a slow walk back. The room is clean. You need to swipe your room card at the hotel entrance after 11 pm to enter. There is a ramen shop downstairs (within 10 steps from the hotel entrance) and Nemuro Hanamaru (30 steps from the hotel entrance). It is recommended to eat during off-peak hours.

GGuest UserHakodate Kokusai Hotel is an established hotel. While it has been recently renovated, and the lobby and public areas are bright and modern, there's a huge disparity in the condition and age between different parts of the hotel and room types. Rooms in the main building are noticeably newer, whereas those in the West Wing feel quite dated, almost from another era. My visit coincided with a Japanese holiday, so hotel prices had soared. I ended up paying main building rates for a room in the West Wing. While the room was passably clean, a distinct dusty smell lingered in the air. The facilities were outdated and inconvenient to use, and the room itself was quite cramped. Overall, my stay was quite disappointing. If only rooms in the West Wing are available, I would strongly recommend choosing a different hotel.

GGuest UserTransportation: 8 minutes from the airport, half an hour from JR, the station is right at the door, there is no shuttle bus, but they will come out to take the luggage and send it to the room. Room: The room is not big, the scenery is very good, although the weather was bad on the day I stayed there, but it was generally good. There are snacks and tea and beer in the refrigerator, and someone will come to make the bed at night. It’s just that the private bath has to be pressed all the time to get hot water, and the wind is very strong, and the curtain will blow away as soon as it is put down. Food: Booked one night and two meals, but the buffet was not particularly good, a little deduction, and there were no drinks for dinner! You can only buy it yourself! When I went there, the lounge was under maintenance, but the staff provided me with a vacant place and sent me drinks, thumbs up 👍. Public bath: Open 23 hours, 3-4 am is the cleaning time, there is a semi-outdoor hot spring on the 4th floor, and a sea view hot spring on the 7th floor. The male and female baths of the two hot springs will be exchanged, everyone remember to pay attention to the time. The only difference between Huayue and Chaosaotei is the scenery. Very Good
エゾシカ伝道師The staff at the inn were warm and moderate, and I was very comfortable. While there were many non-smoking rooms, the companion who was a smoker was very happy. In addition, the correspondence of the odor remaining in the room is also firm, and I think it can be comfortable. It's a hot spring, but you can get the power of the source. It is a hot spring of great satisfaction! I want to enter again ♪
