Metropark Hotels in Zhangjiakou

I stayed at a nice local hotel conveniently located just a five-minute walk from Fulong Snow Park. While my room was slightly dirty, it wasn't enough for me to raise a complaint; it felt as though the cleaner might have been in a hurry. I attempted to order room service, but unfortunately, no one answered the phone. Breakfast offered a mix of Chinese and Western dishes, but I found it lacking compared to other hotel breakfasts I've experienced. One downside was that there was no way to book tickets for the snow park directly through the hotel. Perhaps there was a method, but it wasn't available in English. At Fulong Snow Park, I encountered difficulties as the English-speaking window had no staff who could assist in English. It was quite challenging to navigate everything. Fortunately, I managed to find an English-speaking ski instructor named Alex, who I highly recommend. Although this is unrelated to the hotel, I felt it was worth mentioning!

The hotel location is very good, inside the Thaiwoo Ski resort. Room is clean, and big. Staff are very helpful except the chef during breakfast. We ask politely for omelette for our kid, but chef was refuse & respond it with improper manner. However, the other chef during lunch on our first day was nice. Overall Hyatt Chongli is a great place to stay for ski trip in Thaiwoo!

Brilliant location in the heart of Thaiwoo. Walking distance to the slopes. Rooms are very spacious compared to the other hotels around. The breakfast spread is just ok. Will definitely come back.

During the Spring Festival, I booked a deluxe king-size bed room with tatami for 616 yuan. There is a free shuttle bus arranged according to the high-speed rail schedule (not completely punctual). There is a free shuttle bus to Genting Hotel. Don't take the wrong two shuttle buses. Those with children need to check in manually at the front desk. Others can check in by themselves on the machine and will be assigned a room number. I found out that children are not allowed to do it when I first operated it on the self-service machine. It is recommended to post a piece of paper on the self-service machine to inform you so as not to operate it in vain. A deposit of 550 yuan is required, which will be returned immediately when you check out. The room has everything it should have, and the facilities are easy to use. There is a clothesline in the bathroom. There are two basins for easy use together. The bath water is very comfortable. The sewer is also unobstructed. And there is no situation where one person has enough hot water for another person to wash. Four bottles of drinking water are given. One point is deducted for hygiene because I saw obvious dust in several corners. You can store your luggage, but it seems that there is a charge for more than one day. In addition to skiing, you can also go to the Taizicheng Ruins Park (near the train station) to take a walk (there is a two-hour break at noon and it is closed). There are many activities at Genting Hotel during the Spring Festival, such as free tree flower performances (see picture). The cableway opposite the Taizi Hotel has night skiing. The cafeteria on B1 is open 24 hours a day. Breakfast is also eaten here. Eat more breakfast, because the prices of fried dough sticks, corn, etc. at noon are quite expensive. There are several restaurants around the hotel, including iron pot stew, Korean cuisine, hot pot, and Lawson convenience store. There are hot and cold water dispensers in the cafeteria. Ginger tea is also provided free of charge during meal time. There is a 10-yuan voucher for Serra Palace beef noodles at the front desk. Although the weather forecast shows minus 1 to minus 20 degrees, it doesn’t feel very cold. Maybe the new down jacket I bought this year is more powerful. The heating in the room is too hot. You can wear short sleeves directly after entering the room. Can't the heating temperature be lowered a little? Energy may not be able to withstand such waste. Sometimes I had to open the window for ventilation. It is said that there is a Chongli No. 10 bus at the intersection in front of the hotel every half hour, which takes 3 yuan to Chongli County. I took the shuttle bus to Taizicheng High-speed Railway Station and then took the Chongli No. 10 bus from there.

We chose this hotel since we wanted to go on staycation and this isn't too far from Thaiwoo Ski Resort. We arrived at about 7pm in the hotel and the parking lot was full but some cars were parking beside the hotel's entrance so we just followed them and parked too. We thought it was alright since nobody told us not to. But the next day early in the morning they called us to move our car because it doesn't look good for their hotel and since we aren't morning people we were kinda pissed. They could have told us last night. Although; this thing happened to us, we still think the hotel is nice for staying. Great rooms.

The hotel is ideally situated in a prime location, making it easy to reach and navigate. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by its stunning beauty and elegant decor. The check-in process was very smooth. They even offer self check-in. After we arrived to our room we received a welcome plate of fruit and yogurt. The room we stayed in was a masterpiece of design, meticulously decorated with a keen eye for detail, and the cleanliness maintained by the staff was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which offered an impressive variety of dishes, including both Western and Chinese cuisines. The area surrounding the hotel boasts breathtaking views of the river, adding to the overall charm of our stay. The only thing missing is a swimming pool. The other amenities are very nice.

It was my first time here. The North Wing Apartment was quite new. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room faced the ski slopes and the scenery was beautiful. Wang Li, the assistant manager of the lobby, contacted me in advance and added WeChat. She was very enthusiastic and helpful. Thank you very much. Skiing was so convenient. The ski hall was right after getting off the elevator. You could get on the cable car directly after getting dressed.

This was the best hotel I've stayed at in China. It's even better than hotels that were 4 times the price. The attention to detail in the rooms was excellent. My favorite amenities were the pillow/mattress menu, free soap scrubber in the shower, open concept bathroom. I was also please that the hotel provided a small air conditioner (since it's late October, the hotel's system was set to heat instead is cool) and I was able to sleep in 20 degree comfort. Also, the hotel had free wine tasting! Also, the restaurant was delicious (expensive, but worth it!).

We just loved our 3-night stay at the Thaiwoo Hotel! First off, it was so clean, which is really important when traveling with family – you want everything to feel spotless and comfortable, and that’s exactly what we had here. The location was fantastic, especially for skiing families like ours. It’s just steps from the ski resort entrance, so no stressing about long walks or shuttles. Honestly, it couldn’t be more convenient! There were plenty of food places around for easy dinners after a long day on the slopes, and the hotel’s breakfast was Chinese-style and absolutely satisfying. It gave us all the energy we needed for the day ahead – just perfect for both kids and adults! The service was another highlight. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and traveling moms know how much little things like that matter. Plus, the hotel even offers a convenient transfer to the train stations, which made our trip so much easier. No headaches or complicated logistics – just smooth sailing! We had such a wonderful time and will absolutely be coming back. If you’re planning a family ski trip, I can’t recommend the Thaiwoo Hotel enough. It checked all the boxes for us, and we can’t wait to return!
