Zhaoqing Duanzhou District Hotels

My wife and I recently stayed at Wyndham Grand on 5/7-5/9 and would like to share our experiences and moments. We stayed at the Superior Lake View room and found the room very spacious and comfortable. The view from the balcony really worth the price. Swimming pool is magnificent. Also, we want to commend the front desk team, especially Miss Cara Yu for their outstanding service. From check-in to checkout, 小余 demonstrated remarkable professionalism and genuine warmth. She proactively provided personalized dining recommendations, sight seeing points marked on the map for us and reminded us about the weather change which was very heartfelt. Very nice hotel with great location, easy to access the lake. Hotel is very new and staff are very friendly. Great room layout with charging cables provided. Rest area provided next to the reception. Lots of eating place nearby. Highly recommended and definately will come back again.

Recently, during summer vacation, I wanted to go to Zhaoqing with friends for a couple of days to visit Seven Star Crags and Dinghu Mountain. I found this guesthouse on Ctrip; it's very close to the scenic spots, and the photos uploaded by other guests looked pretty good. The price was also reasonable, so I decided to book one day to check it out. We arrived quite late, but the owner warmly welcomed us! She had already prepared our room keys, so we could just pack our bags and check in quickly. The room was very clean, without the dampness I had imagined typical of southern China. The toiletries were all provided, and the Wi-Fi password was easy to find (written on the table card, along with the owner's contact information). The house faces the street, and opening the balcony door reveals the illuminated scenic area across the street, creating a lovely atmosphere. It was very comfortable to enjoy the breeze on the balcony! The guesthouse's restaurant offers a buffet breakfast with options like steamed buns, sweet potatoes, corn, coffee, and milk, saving us time searching for breakfast in the morning. After returning from our day's activities, we decided to try the restaurant's main meal. The three of us ordered five dishes, which were generous in portion size and offered a wide variety of cuisines. The food was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful! (See the pictures for reference.) There's also a bar area near the entrance where you can make drinks (milk tea and juice). Overall, I'd give the restaurant full marks; it was very much to our liking! Since my friends and I thought it was a good place, we decided to extend our stay. During our stay, the owner would ask us where we wanted to go every day and give us the best itinerary. She was really nice! The room was cleaned daily and kept very spotless. The bathroom amenities were also promptly replenished; we didn't even need to ask, as everything was basically tidied up after our outings.

The hotel provides plenty of amenities free of charge which is very thoughtful and useful for guests. Free laundry facilities, free coffee and tea plus some fizzy drinks, there are also plasters, tooth pick, sanitiser, wipes etc provided free at the lobby area. Will worth staying here

The hotel is in a good location, close to the arcade street, the ancient city wall and the museum. There are shopping malls, supermarkets and various snack bars near the hotel, which is quite convenient. The service attitude of the hotel staff is also good. The only bad thing is that the sound insulation is a bit poor. I was woken up by other people's voices at more than six o'clock in the morning!

There is no elevator on the second floor of the hotel, and you can only walk up the stairs. It is indeed not very convenient for people who need to carry luggage. The room only comes with two bottles of mineral water. If you need water in the middle of the night, there is no waiter to deliver it. Even if you pay to buy it, no one will deliver it. You have to go to the self-service vending machine on the first floor to buy it yourself, which is really troublesome! This boss can really improve it. If the details and other value-added services are done well, the customer experience can be better improved. In the form of a buffet breakfast, there are too few breakfast varieties, one porridge, one vegetable, one noodle, corn, egg, sweet potato, egg, milk

Everything is good, the location is excellent, opposite is the sports center, behind is the snack street, very convenient, towels are also very clean, the room has no odor, breakfast is very rich, especially the service attitude, the lady No. 46 who received me at the time was very gentle and humane, and helped me change the room according to my accommodation habits, thumbs up

Generally speaking, the location of the B&B is quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle. There is a noisy food street in front of it, and there are basically no restaurants behind the mountain. The overall surrounding environment is very quiet. The room is large, equipped with laundry detergent and mouthwash, the toilet is also a smart toilet, the facilities are very new, and the hygiene is good in all aspects, which is very good. But the service operation really needs to be improved. The room we booked has a terrace upstairs, which is a very large and open public space. The floor is not soundproof at all. Someone was drinking and supper upstairs that night, so from the time we checked in at 8 o'clock until after 12 o'clock in the evening, tables were constantly being moved. There were sounds and sounds of children running around, and the sound of stomping feet hitting the floor and bottles falling to the floor. I was tired after a whole day and I came here to have a good rest, but I woke up directly from my sleep. I complained to my boss many times, but all I could do was give him ”verbal persuasion,” which did not actually solve the problem. I have stayed in many B&Bs, and when I encounter one with a public space, there will be a clear policy. It must end after ten o'clock to avoid disturbing other customers. This store does not have that at all. So please be careful when booking this room. (Other room types should be fine if they don’t face the activity area above) In addition, the breakfast was also unsatisfactory. Two free breakfasts in one room, a mix of Chinese and Western, including pumpkin porridge, but no dishes to go with the porridge, plus a plate of toast, bacon and omelette for a Western-style breakfast, and then there is no milk, only tea and coffee, 18 yuan to be paid separately, with children The family wants to add breakfast. In addition to porridge and eggs, the rest is 48 per serving... I can't understand the landlord's business ideas. I booked a B&B like this for nearly 1,000 yuan during the National Day. I can only say that I spent the money to learn a lesson and will not go there again.

We arrived before the check-in time (11am) thinking to store our luggage at the reception, but the receptionist told us the rooms were ready and was kind enough to check us in early, which was a pleasant surprise :D The rooms were nice and clean, no smell of smoke, stable WiFi connection. The rainfall shower head was a bit leaky, but the regular one works fine. It was a little tricky to get the water to the right temperature, but with some trial and error it's not a big problem. The hotel is located conveniently near the Seven Star Crags (just a tunnel away from the Paifang square), and there are many shops within walking distance. Recommended for travellers visiting Zhaoqing!
