The room was lovely and clean, and the projector for watching movies was a fantastic bonus. The owner was also very kind and helpful. The location is incredibly convenient for transportation; Jiefangbei and Hongyadong are both within easy reach. Plus, it's perfect for a night view cruise – the pier is right next door, just a 3-minute walk away, making it super convenient to catch a boat and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

The hotel is located on Nanshan Old Street, with fresh air, beautiful environment, attentive service and affordable prices. Next door is Sanmao's former residence. Because it is located next to Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the surrounding restaurants are also very affordable. There are various teahouses along the old street, making it the first choice for leisure and vacation!

For those of us who have been to many ancient towns and stayed in many homestays, the service of this inn is really speechless. Because we were traveling with 5 elderly people, I was very selective when booking the B&B in Gongtan Ancient Town. After seeing the introduction and pictures of the inn, I thought the hardware (separate wet and dry areas in the toilet and bathroom, shower with heater) was good. I also read everyone's comments saying that the service was also very good, so I finally decided to choose Xirongxuan. However, all the unpleasantness started from the second call to the boss. We arrived at the parking lot around 5 o'clock after visiting the Three Natural Bridges and the Ground Crack. Our chartered car driver asked me to contact the boss to pick us up. According to previous experience, when entering the ancient town, the boss or staff would usually come out to pick us up. However, when I called the boss for the first time, the boss specified that we get off at the north gate parking lot and let us take the scenic area's sightseeing bus to the homestay (2 yuan per person). Okay, no problem, we came in by ourselves. However, there were only cars but no drivers in the parking lot. I looked around but didn't see anyone. I had no choice but to call the boss again. At this time, the boss still emphasized that I should find a driver. When I said there was no one, he reluctantly said, ”Then I'll pick you up.” After waiting for a few minutes, the boss finally showed up. Knowing that there were six of us, he drove a small car that could only seat four at most, including the luggage. I said that some of us could wait for him in the parking lot and asked him to pick us up again. The boss's answer was, ”The other two of you can walk in by yourselves. It's only a few hundred meters away.” Oh my God, he asked us to find it by ourselves in an ancient town we had never been to, not to mention how tired we were after climbing the mountain for a whole day. After my repeated requests, the boss said that he would pick me up again, but I had to wait (I later learned that because it was a one-way street, he had to go around in a circle, so he was unwilling to do so). I brought three elders and followed the boss to the B&B first. The boss dropped us off at the bottom of the B&B. Only then did I realize that it was a long and steep flight of steps to get to the B&B. I didn’t see anyone else coming to pick us up, so I carried a big bag and a 20-inch suitcase on my back. The three elders followed me and we began to climb up. After climbing a few steps, I looked up and saw a woman in pajamas looking at us at the door of the B&B. I thought it was another guest. She kept watching us climb up. When there were only a few steps left, she suddenly ran over and said, ”Let me help you.” It turned out to be the proprietress. There were only a few steps left. You pretended to come over to help us with our luggage. What were you doing before? The proprietress said arrogantly that she was not in good health. Is poor health a reason for you to treat guests like this? It's really ridiculous. Or if you said sorry when you saw me and said you were not feeling well and couldn't help you, I would have accepted it. The couple really aren't suited to running a B&B, or rather they should hire some helpers. The two of them can only be bosses. The next day after checking out, we had to go to the pier to take a boat and take our luggage with us. The night before, the boss said he would help us book a scenic spot bus to take us. After the pick-up, I would rather spend money to take the scenic spot bus. The next morning the boss said he would give us a ride, but the prerequisite was that two of us had to walk to the dock by ourselves. My anger, which had already subsided, was instantly ignited again. Really, why are you so unwilling to do something like stepping on the accelerator when you're driving? What's more, from what I observed that night, there were only six of us in three rooms in the entire inn. Then the boss asked me for the phone number of our chartered driver. At this time, I really didn't want him to take us there, but the elder kept persuading me. I told him that he could go to the parking lot and I would find a driver to put the luggage away. The boss's service consciousness suddenly awakened and he said he would serve us well, my God. In the end, my three elders still walked to the pier by themselves. This boss is awesome. In the whole inn, only the boss's mother understood how to entertain guests. She always spoke to us politely. There was no service at all in the whole inn. Finally, I want to say that no matter how good the hardware of an inn is, if the service cannot keep up, it will ruin its reputation. B&Bs rely on word of mouth. Maybe the owner of this place is just doing a one-time business, so he doesn't care about the guests' feelings. In fact, even if the conditions of the inn are a little worse, the service is heartwarming and everyone will naturally accept the poor conditions.

The room is very comfortable and clean. The booked two-meter big bed has a city street view and a bit of river view. It is especially suitable for traveling with children. There is also a children's toilet. If I bring children with me next time, I will definitely choose this hotel again. Although it is in an old building, the room is very comfortable. Although it is facing the street, it is not noisy at all. However, it is indeed not close to Qixinggang hahaha. Chongqing gives me the feeling that it looks very close on the map but it takes a long time to walk. However, it does not hinder travel. During the Tomb Sweeping Day, the price increase is not high. It is really a treasure shop.

The hotel left a mixed impression. In my opinion, it doesn't live up to its price. The room is small but not bad. The bed is big, but very hard. There are chairs and a table in the room, and that's nice. The windows don't close properly. But there is air conditioning. Without it, we would have simply frozen, because it was only 12 degrees at night. The bathroom is bad and not well thought out. The shower is right in front of the toilet, and there are no partitions. If you wash yourself, the toilet will be flooded. I can't imagine how to use a shower here. The sink leaks. There is an unpleasant musty smell in the bathroom. The location is good. Not far from the center. It's quiet here. The staff probably didn't like us. But the attitude was clearly cold. Perhaps they don't like foreigners who don't know Chinese.

The hotel is excellent, the front desk service is great, the rooms are very clean, and it's close to the station. Highly recommended.

Very cosy lodge with pretty view. Lady boss Ran Ran is also very nice. The only suggestion is to tidy/clean up the area below the balcony as it is a pile of junks which spoil the pretty river view. Close to the pier and easy walking for old people. Food was ok but a bit expensive.

We took a boat from Wanzu to Gongtan Ancient Town. We could see the inn when we got off the boat. We contacted the owner in advance and he received us warmly. Since we booked a room on a better floor, the owner took us to the inn by elevator from the South Gate Visitor Center. The inn has a good location, a large room, and a separate balcony. It's nice to drink tea and chat on the balcony at night.
