The second-class carriage costs less than 20 yuan. But buying tickets at the train station requires queuing, which is very inconvenient. Online purchase requires local phone card registration and local credit card payment. I bought it through an agent, 60 yuan, second class seat. The whole journey takes more than 5 hours. Accommodation, it is recommended for a person to choose a location in the center of Amritsar, otherwise it is not safe to walk in the alley at night. Despite it is an international airport, it is not crowded. There’s also a replica of the famous Golden Temple right at the departure hall. Food and beverage places are limited. Just a few serving cafe food like sandwiches and cuppa. As I was with my travelling group which does not have free lounge access, I didn’t go to the lounge. Else would have got into Costa. Lemon Green Hotel is a nice hotel located at a nice location. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. It’s walkable distance from Gobindgarh Fort and Harminder Sahib. Breakfast was included in the booking and it was really good, many options to choose from. Dishes were available from North to South cuisine and also Bred butter, Juices and tea Coffee. Staff was nice and friendly. Check in process was easy and smooth. It was a pre paid booking so it just took 2-3 min to check in. Swimming pool was big and beautiful. It's about 30 minutes from the airport, and the round trip cost is about 1000 yen by auto rickshaw. It's a great place to spend some quiet time with devout Sikhs, so if you're in the area, be sure to stop by! My favorite place is the free lodging facility for foreigners, which was built in honor of a Western saint named Ramdas.
