The colors and terrain are wonderfully intertwined. I enjoyed riding a camel in the desert, which gave me the opportunity to explore sand dunes and archaeological sites. That experience was special, especially when I was sitting under the starry night sky. I also tasted local food at one of the camps, and the traditional dishes were delicious and full of flavor. When heading out into the stunning landscape that is Jordan’s Wadi Rum protected are the first thing you may notice is a small canal like structure in the middle of the desert. This may seem unusual as a tourist attraction but is full of history, long before Lawrence of Arabia reportedly used this spring, it was used by the ancient Nabatean people who roamed this land in search of water and now is used by local camel herders to allow their animals a drink in the hot temperatures. #aprilblooms #desert #spring

When most people think of deserts there first though is of giant sand dunes. Unfortunately, visitors across the world to deserts are often disappointed to find that the vast majority are rocky. However, if you’re visiting Jordan’s Wadi Rum protected area you are in luck. Standing out in the middle of the desert you will find a giant red sand dune. Climbing to the top might be difficult in the soft sand but it’s well worth it for the view at the top and the very reason that the film makers of Lawrence of Arabia chose this spot to make their famous posters. #aprilblooms #desert #dune

One of the most impressive features across Jordan’s Wadi Rum protected area is the Khazali canyon. I came to Arch Rock in the Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan. This is a famous Instagram spot in the Wadi Rum Desert. You can actually climb the rock mountain and walk across the rocks that hang like a bridge. If you ask the tour guide, they will take a photo of you walking across the rocks.
