I enjoyed a nice weekend staying in bristol's old city. While there were no raving feedbacks from people who had previously considered bristol for weekends. I thought my time was well spent and the city worked for me. Especially from the perspective of a weekend getaway. It allowed for a decent mix of different things. Iw as put up in the old city because iIstick with older parts of town and I'm into heritage. But otherwise too it think in case of Bristol the best backpacker options are here. So depending on your budget you may pick a place. There is stoke croft which has very good and decently priced backpacker options too. Other than that you have southville and Clifton too. Places that i visited during the weekend break and were nice. As for things to too, I would highly recommend a walking tour. It was a great way to get to know so much about a place and get insights from a local guide. Also, the Bansy trail that is part of some walking tours is super fun. There's a good mix of heritage, churches, harbor and landmarks like the cliffton suspension bridge to explore. It would allow come down to what sort of traveller you are what preferences. The well-maintained walking trails are perfect for a peaceful stroll, and the playground keeps the kids entertained for hours. Everyone thinks There’s so much Mexican food available⋯⋯ Italian food may be a safer choice for Asians⋯⋯ As a result we decided to take the plunge and try Sri Lankan food in the UK! 😅 Because we were looking for a restaurant for dinner, we went to Stokes Croft at the north end of Bristol city center. As we walked... we couldn't help but get nervous because of the dense and ostentatious graffiti. Some even climbed onto the doors and windows of the building to ask their friends. , he used "Sham Shui Po" to describe this area. To briefly describe, Bristol was in dire straits after World War II, but development was concentrated in the city center, Stokes Croft was marginalized, and there were many abandoned houses. Gradually, small businesses with local characteristics have gathered, as well as street artists’ studios and gathering spots. However, using "Sham Shui Po" to describe this place only gives me, a tourist from Hong Kong, a general impression, and it cannot simply summarize a place. The restaurant we ate at that night was called Nadu. The owner is a Sri Lankan. We ordered grilled fish and boiled mutton. Selling point, give it a try! 🍸 After dinner, the sun was still shining brightly during the long British summer day, but most of the shops except restaurants were closed. I didn’t explore in depth. I just visited here and later found out that the famous graffiti master Banksy’s masterpiece The Mild Mild West was there. On the wall across the street from the restaurant, we actually missed it! 😭

I had always wanted to hike in the UK, but I didn’t have the guts alone, and one day I found a park near the University of Bristol. Walk down to City Council's Park Street from Bristol University, next to Great George Street and all the way to the end is one of the entrances to the park. This is a small hill, Brandon Hill, unlike other park trails that are always gentle and undulating, with ramps or stone steps... Head towards the highest point and find a redstone tower called Cabot Tower. The tower was built in the eighteenth century, actually commemorating an Italian named John Cabot, who sailed to today's Canada with the support of King Henry VII in the fourteenth century to discover Newfoundland. Bristol was an important seaport in England in ancient times, and John Cabot set out from here, making two trips, once to discover Newfoundland, and the other probably to trade. Fourteenth to eighteenth centuries...why was a tower built to commemorate in Bristol four hundred years later? It turns out that by the eighteenth century, Britain and France wanted to fight for local colonial rights. In the end, Britain won, and in order to consolidate colonial power, they revisited and highlighted the history of four hundred years ago. When I first arrived in Bristol, I saw some unicorns with different patterns on the street. At first I thought they were city decorations. They were so pretty that I just took a photo and passed by, but tourists were all scanning the QR code on the ground, just to see it too! It turns out that Bristol has a Unicorn Festival from July to September this year. Different artists will paint on a horse-sized unicorn statue, and then place it in different places in Bristol. Tourists and citizens can download an App with a unicorn map, which can be used to check where there are unicorns nearby. Once you find one, you can scan the code and check in to see who has collected the most! 🧩🦄😜 In September, the conference will gather all the unicorns from all over the world for exhibition. There seem to be more than fifty of them now. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to an organization that helps leukemia. Details of Unicornfest can be found online. After checking the distribution locations, some places are difficult to get to. This suspension bridge is built across the Avon Gorge, linking Clifton (Bristol) and Leigh Woods (North Somerset). This suspension bridge is built and opened in 1864. The bridge deck is suspended by 162 vertical wrought-iron rods in 81 matching pairs. It has been a venue for some significant events (e.g. handover venue of the Olympic Torch relay in 2012.) To get here, take No 8 circular bus from Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station and alight at Clifton Village. The fine arts collection is impressive with some notable artists on display which gives a sense of grandeur. The Japanese porcelain collection is worth a look too. If you like history the Egyptian exhibition is excellent, informative and interesting. Quite impressive for a smaller UK city. There are also dinosaur fossils on display as well as a prehistoric section. The standout has to the replica airplane hanging from the ceiling. Quite a sight! Bristol is indeed a mountain city. I hiked up and down the hills all day long. Hahahaha. We got off at Bristol Temple Meads train station. The toilet was very unique, with Bristol's famous suspension bridge above it. Then we started our walking tour of Bristol. We first went to The centre of Bristol, which is a very lively city centre with various grocery stalls. We went into St Nicholas Market, walked around and took some photos. While walking towards the University of Bristol, we came to a food stall and ordered some Chinese-style food, such as noodles and dumplings, which were pretty good. The university that impressed me the most was the University of Bristol. It was just like going to school in Hogwarts. Harry Potter fans were ecstatic. Bristol museum is a collision of nature and art. The display cabinets are designed very attentively and it is free to visit, which is a pleasant surprise. In the evening we walked to the Bristol Christmas Market, which was full of Christmas atmosphere. For me who loves winter, traveling in winter is full of happiness. We ended a fulfilling day by eating hot pudding pie. #bristol #christmasmarket

This was my second time to visit this city. There is a long river in the middle of the city, and famous for the big bridge just a few minutes drive from the central. Compared to London, not too many people. But still you can find a lot of people from outside from the UK for work and study.

A truly astonishing building. Real history here and such a well preserved monument. Dating back to 1200 this former Medieval building has been restored and added to over the centuries. It's free and open to the public and there is a lot of information available both in small plaques and in a booklet. As you walk around you get a real sense of history and grandeur. There are many tombs here of notable figures and it's like walking in a graveyard. The architecture is stunning with huge arches and beautiful stained glass windows. Getting There - Bristol Temple Meads train station is connected to all major city in the UK Attractions - Bristol Cathedral is an absolute must. Bristol national museum too. And you can walk around and check out the street art and Banksy murals. SS Great Britain is a must too. Bristol is a great walking city and they also have electric scooters you can rent via QR codes. Food & Restaurants - It's a student city. Lots of great Asian restaurants, vegan food and independent restaurants. For coffee I suggest Bird & Blend and food Sandwich Sandwich Shopping - All major stores are here but Bristol is a strong supporter of independent retailers. Location - 🧀🧀🧀 Anchor Road, Bristol BS1 5TT, United Kingdom 🐾 20 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station Attractions - 🧀🧀 I was a bit disappointed by this aquarium. 🦞 There wasn’t a wide variety of animals to look at and at one point, saw a lobster (the kind we have in restaurants) on display! 🐠 Some areas were quite repetitive and the aquarium was a bit small. 🐡 However, there were a few sea creatures that I hadn’t seen before, which was interesting and a few areas that were quite beautiful (some of the pictures look better than it did in person though ). Avg. Price per Person - 🧀🧀 £17.75 pp, which is a much for what we saw. Exploring the city of Bristol amazes me every time! Always something new and exciting to see. This time #vangogh experience came to Bristol on its tour. What an incredible exhibition - would definitely recommend 🌻. Bristol International Balloon Fiesta was back again for its annual night glow. I hadn’t been to this is years so was amazing to see the balloons all lit up again especially how in sync it was to the music track created by the organisers - the Alien hot air balloon was definitely a fun one! And of course we had to visit the seaside of Clevedon, going in the marine lake was one of the highlights of my stay!
