Popular Yat Ka Yan Dessert New Branch
Yat Ka Yan Dessert is a famous dessert place in Singapore. Their main shop is at Fortune Centre. This is the new outlet at Tan Quee Lan. It's near Bugis MRT station, so it's easy to find. There's usually a long line, but it moves quickly. We tried their Mini Soup Set of 3, where you pick 3 desserts. It's perfect if you don't want a lot. We chose Walnut Paste, Purple Rice with Coconut Milk, and Barley Beancurd. They were all delicious, which explains the crowd. We'll definitely go back to try their shaved ice and other dishes.

Jane Deer(简鹿糖水铺) a very insta-worthy venue and variety of desserts option, a very good dessert experience, with their unique desserts décor and interesting names as well.😋👍🏻✨Staff’s service is good and friendly.
We had ordered Iced Lemon Red and Bath Teddy Bear.😊⭐️✨The Bath Teddy Iced Bear looked so cute in the tiny bath tub, with red beans and colourful taro-balls surrounded, one of the must-order dessert!
Will visit again, and try other desserts in their menu - ♨️the Fairy Hot Pot and ♨️the Jane Eyre’s Six.

Visiting Muscat Street!
The street is one of the popular landmark in Singapore.
While walking along the Muscat Street, i saw the imposing golden-domed of Masjid Sultan. I also see the hotel nearby which can be a good location in the street. It also such nice place to walk, especially for tourists.
Will be back again to discover more about this beautiful street!

Buying the same hotel’s teapot
#staycation
Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here looking for hotel utensils and appliances. I asked around and I was told that I can find commonly used items in this kitchenware shop in the Bugis area. It was near the Village Hotel Bugis so I went over and took a look. This shop is selling all their good quality stuff meant for hotels and restaurants use. They also sell to the public and you can buy in lower quantities. I managed to get a stainless steel teapot which I encountered during my staycation. It is the correct size for me and I am glad that I found it.
Finding the pink door
#artshunting
Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at Bugis and chance upon an artistic Mookata shop. It is located at the corner coffee shop and there is a special pink door which looks like a vending ma like the usual entrances. This Mookata place is one of them. They have neon sign boards and unique doors. I push open the door and it is a staircase leading upstairs. As it was still early for dinner, I looked through their menu and will take note to revisit on my next trip.
Smile Desserts
#staycation
Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at a cute pink dessert shop. Thanks to the staycation booked at Village Hotel Bugis and Trip.com also had the same deal, which included $30 Village Currency. Smile Desserts is one of the newly included places to use for Village Currency. You will not miss this unique dessert shop at Bugis. On the second floor, they even have a ball pit area and you can sit in the ball pit and have your desserts. It is a self-service place so you will place an order on the ground floor and collect a buzzer, then you can wait for them to alert you.
Izakaya✨with rugged-wall surrounded🤭✨
TAAN IZA-BAR⭐️✨
Address - 1 Liang Seah Street #01-03/04 Singapore 189022. (Bugis MRT)
Ambience – TAAN is not only a restaurant, but it’s more to an izakaya to all guests a casual place for drinking, chatting, dining with friends and families. TAAN décor with their Japanese themed which has the rugged uneven surface wall surrounding; and there’s an individual modern art piece handmade with copper - Cool!👍🏻👍🏻✨
Food – we are tempted by the Unaki Maki; the Salmon Sashimi; the Kinako Butter Yaki; and the Tamago Mentai. A must-try dish their “Spicy Seafood Pasta”…..yummy!😋👍🏻✨
Service – friendly staff; and their food served fast.👍🏻✨

This is a super popular shop which I noticed when I was in the same area. I went to take a look and found out that it was a beauty enhancement shop for the ladies and gentlemen too. They have a few outlets and this outlet is in the Bugis area. They have different types of services for your needs. Most of the time, they are having in-store promotions and their prices look affordable too. The layout of the shop is simple, pink furnishings with white walls. They also have a notice that they will not hardsell beauty packages. It is better to make a prior booking before showing up. As I understand, the beauty therapist will need time to complete the beauty services in a safe way.
Inside out festival
Address - Tan Quee Lan Street, Bugis, Singapore 188100
Inside Out Festival Singapore was one of the most interesting and memorable festivals I have attended. It was a highly artistic focused, design-centric festival that showcased the works of various artistes in Singapore. Some of the displays were quite epic and huge structures, like the lighted box in the middle of a quadrangle.
There was also edible art by Janice Wong, who designed bite-sized chocolates on lollipop sticks and decorated a whole room with them. Guests were invited to take one to try, super cool!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

aesthetic bubble tea shop near Haji Lane
If you haven’t heard of this aesthetic bubble tea brand, @machimachi_singapore is apparently one of Jay Chou’s faves and was even featured in his music video ‘Won't Cry’ (𝘣𝘵𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 🎵)
We went to the branch near Haji Lane - absolutely loved the minimalistic sign above the seats outside (📷 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘱) as well as the pretty bottles (𝘐 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘶𝘴𝘦)
𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐉𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨
Surprisingly this was my fave, as the refreshing nature helped beat the hot weather, plus the smooth texture and slight sourness of the plum jello at the bottom of the bottle really stood out 👍🏻
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚
I ordered this just #forthegram and kinda regretted it 😅 Don’t get me wrong, I actually quite enjoyed the sweet strawberry milk, but the creamy panna cotta made this feel more like a dessert than a drink, and was quite heavy after lunch that I still felt bloated till dinner time… so I would recommend sharing with someone 😌
ᴡᴏʀᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ʜʏᴘᴇ?
Yes, I’ll give it a second chance and would probably try their tea-based drinks next time 🍵

Playing with strays
Address: Kitten Sanctuary SG, 737A North Bridge Rd, Singapore 198705
This is a non-profit Animal Welfare Group run entirely by volunteers. They focus on education and advocate for lifelong adoption, tolerance and compassion.
They rescue strays and care for them in a kitty haven, where they are safe until they find their permanent homes.
You can visit and play with these rescued cats and also adopt them. The volunteers are vert friendly too.
The visit was separated into 3 stages - first was play time with the kittens and younger cats, followed by visiting the other adult cats for pets and treats and lastly, meeting the resident cats with double coloured eyes!
Do note that they have a fixed time slots and it’s recommended to book a slot online first! I recommend visiting in the morning as the cats are more energetic then.

Halal French Restaurant
Address: The White Label, 734 North Bridge Rd, #01-01, Singapore 198702
Situted within the bustling streets of Kampong Gelam, The White Label is a halal dining destination that will take you to the magical city of light - Paris.
Savour classical French cuisine with a twist of local flavours. We ordered:-
1. Pappardelle au Beef Ragout - 7/10 The pasta was handmade, and it has a nice texture to it. It was cooked to perfection and the flavour of the sauce was sweet and peppery.
2. Cherrywood Smoked Contre-Filet - 8/10 The Striploin was infused with butter and cooked in Cherry Wood Smoke. Nice thick cut with a beautiful crust. The steak was more on the medium side rather than medium rare but it was still soft and tender. I would skip the curry sauce on the side!
Staff was attentive and overall a nice place to visit if you're around the area.

Relax, Dine, and Unwind in Style
#singaporetrips
During my Singapore trip, I discovered this cozy and eclectic cafe that stood out with its artistic decor and inviting atmosphere. From quirky wall art to vintage-style furniture, every corner had something unique to admire.
I enjoyed a cup of hot tea that was both soothing and refreshing, making it the perfect companion for a relaxed afternoon. The shelves were filled with books, tea sets, and small trinkets, giving the cafe a warm and homely vibe. It felt like a space where you could sit back, sip your tea, and forget the world outside.
This cafe is a must-visit if you appreciate creativity and a peaceful ambiance. It’s not just a place for great tea, but also a spot to soak in the artistic charm and unwind. A perfect blend of simplicity and inspiration!
Savoring Simplicity in a Cozy Retreat
#singaporetrips
During my trip to Singapore, I found this charming and relaxing restaurant that instantly made me feel at home. The warm, minimalist decor with bamboo accents and soft lighting created such a peaceful vibe—it was the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy a meal.
I tried their signature noodle dish, topped with a perfectly cooked egg and fresh greens. The flavors were comforting and well-balanced, with a side of crispy shallots adding a delicious crunch. The presentation was simple yet elegant, making the meal even more enjoyable.
What I loved most was the calming ambiance and attention to detail in both the decor and the food. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy a hearty meal, and take in the cozy atmosphere. If you’re looking for a quiet and satisfying dining experience in Singapore, I highly recommend visiting this gem!
🇸🇬China Cuisine: Affordable Price Especially Dine in Group
If you love savory and spicy flavors, especially Chinese cuisine, Fat Bird Chicken Hot Pot (胖胖鸡) is good to try! I had a meal with about 5 people, and the bill came to less than $100 — we didn’t expect that, but it was a pleasant surprise. The portions were huge, and the experience was both delicious and fun. Plus, it's super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Bugis MRT, near Liang Seah Street, which is bustling with restaurants at night. Definitely worth bringing some friends for a hearty meal!

Stumbled upon this chinese new year themed disney merch being sold at Bugis+ mall.
They had many clothing items on sale. They have characters ranging from mickey mouse to marvel characters!
They even had bedsheets, floor mats, water bottles, toy figures, etc.
This makes a great gift for adults looking to buy CNY clothing for children!

Liang Seah Street - A destination for restaurants in Singapore
#newyearnewtrip #singapore
Liang Seah street is a street in Singapore full of mainly restaurants, a karaoke, some dessert shops, etc. It is quite crowded at night with some tourists and locals. The place is quite close to any attraction you can think of, I would say it’s quite easy to travel to considering its distance from MRT or bus stops.
I definitely recommend this area for finding something new to eat as a local or tourist!

Bugis Adventures: A Couple’s Day Out
#coupletravel
On our couple's trip to Singapore, we decided to explore Bugis, and it turned out to be a great choice! We started the day with a quick lunch at a nearby food court, conveniently close to our hotel. After filling up, we headed straight to Bugis Street Market for some shopping. The market was buzzing with people, and we managed to grab a few bargains.
The weather was incredibly hot, so we couldn’t resist stopping by Mr. Coconut for a refreshing coconut shake. It was exactly what we needed to cool down.
After that, we crossed over to Bugis Junction Mall for a change of scenery and some more shopping. As a sweet treat, we tried the sticky yogurt at Beyond Fruit, which was so good! Perfect to refresh ourselves after walking around the mall.
By the late afternoon, we were both tired and hungry, so we made our way to Malaysia Boleh!, a food court that offers a variety of Malaysian dishes. I went for a classic choice — popiah (fresh spring rolls) and fries. Simple, but satisfying!
Overall, it was a fun and fulfilling day in Singapore with a great mix of shopping, food, and exploring!

Bugis: A Melting Pot of Cultural Landmarks
When you visit Singapore, make sure to spend a day exploring the Bugis area.
Near the Bugis MRT station, you'll find must-see attractions like the Sultan Mosque and a variety of cultural experiences that cater to multiple interests at once.
Haji Lane is a colorful street filled with trendy local brands and vibrant restaurants and bars. Walking through this area, you'll feel an instant youthful vibe.
Adjacent to it is Arab Street, where I particularly love the unique shops, especially the dazzling lanterns that are simply irresistible.
Nearby Baghdad Street is a haven for perfume enthusiasts, with numerous shops offering a wide range of fragrances.
If you get tired or too hot from walking around, there are covered malls nearby where you can take a break and enjoy some air conditioning.
It's best to visit in the late afternoon, around 2 or 3 PM, to fully experience the lively atmosphere.
Super fun activity at Bugis
I've had "The Floor is Lava" on my date list for ages, but life kept getting in the way—travel, illness, and family commitments. We finally locked in a date, and it was perfect timing since my primary school bestie was visiting Singapore. It turned into an ideal bonding time for me, my bestie, and my BF.
This place was conveniently located at Bugis/Nicoll Highway MRT. The game starts exactly at your booking time, I recommend heading there 5-10 minutes in advance to wait. Once we enter the room, the staff briefed us on how to use the machine, she played an energetic playlist before leaving the room.
Gameplay:
Work as a team to clear all Blue tiles to advance to the next stage. We had 5 lives per round, once you lose them the round will restart. Our goal was to see how many rounds we could clear in 25 minutes.
During the 25 minutes, we got to choose our difficulty level. We went with intermediate first, aiming for a challenge that was still doable for 3 unfit adults! We were wrong - we failed miserably we restarted the game, and went with beginners.
Each level has 10 rounds, we were able to complete 17 rounds (10 beginners; 7 intermidiate) and 3 failed trials within our 25 minutes.
It was a great workout and bonding session!
Tips:
1. Wear sports attire
2. Bring a towel/change of clothes
3. Get a refreshing drink/water in between levels.
I highly recommend this for your next date or outing! It's also a great ice breaker if you want to introduce your partner to your friends/family. I would also come back here with a different group of friends, the experience will definitely be different each time.
P.s. I felt 4 pax was perfect for the game, but I definitely will come back here with 8 pax to see the chaos.
Eccentric Bugis!
Bugis is always an eccentric and lively place to wander around, what with new shops and restaurants opening every week! You’ll find great food and even greater finds with its textile stores and thrift shops.
