Seeking blessings at Xing’an Temple in Batu 11 Cheras
Xing'an Temple is a beautiful Guandi temple in South Cheras Area
The temple is not big, but you can visit the large, golden statue of Guan Gong outside and the Five Tiger Generals behind it. The statue of the deity Guan Di is said to be the tallest statue (of Guan Di) in Selangor
Guandi, is a Chinese god of war is a natural favourite of soldiers but has been chosen patron of numerous trades and professions. This is because Guan Yu, the mortal who became Guandi after death, is said by tradition to have been a peddler of bean curd early in life.
Emperor Huizong of Song, a bumbling ruler but a devoted Taoist, was the first ruler to make Guan Yu a “deity” in the official Taoist canon. The founder of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) later gave him the higher title of “(heavenly) emperor.”
Xing’an is definitely beautifully and colourfully litted up at night and worth a visit if you are in the area!!
There is a also a chinese restaurant- Tien Xia Restaurant, conveniently attached by the left side of the temple and it seem pretty packed so am guessing the food is good
Address - Lot 399, Jalan Balakong, Batu 11 Cheras, 43200 Kajang, Selangor.

A Vibrant Canvas of Creativity: UTAR Sungai Long Campus
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere
During my recent visit to the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Sungai Long Campus, I was immediately struck by the campus's lively and artistic atmosphere. The walls here have been transformed into an ever-evolving canvas, with stunning murals created by both students and staff. These works of art, mostly adorning the stairwells, not only brighten up the space but also encourage UTARians to take the stairs—an inspiring mix of creativity and practicality.
Walking through the campus, I felt a palpable energy, as each mural seemed to tell a unique story. From abstract designs to culturally inspired pieces, every corner was a celebration of expression. It’s clear that UTAR has become much more than a place for academic growth—it’s a hub for artistic and creative collaboration, blending education with the power of visual art. The vibrant murals make the campus a truly inspiring place to be, and I left feeling more connected to the spirit of innovation and creativity that defines UTAR.

A ride from the northwest to the southeast
Taking the subway from the northwest of Kuala Lumpur to the southeast of Kuala Lumpur is a long experience. Starting from Damansara Damai Station on Line 12 in the northwest, transfer to Line 9 on the dark green line to Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Station in the southeast. The entire journey is 30km and takes about 70 minutes. It is a very comfortable experience! #ishafoundation #innerengineering #localtour #suryakriya #innerengineering #sadhguru

cheras c180 hotel
Was quite worth it considering the price, but a lot of
stuff was old and yellowish, some even not working or
still had the old ibis hotel logo still on it. And I couldn't
call the reception, had to walked down to ask for
toothbrush (which they did not provide or had any).
Location was great as it's close to alot of restaurants.
Parking was free too if you park outside. In door parking
has charges but not sure how much… but saw previous review it says rm3 per entry…. so would suggest you to park outside for the day as you’ll go out for lunch and dinner, and when you’re back from dinner park inside as it’s safer with guards guarding it..

Savory Meets Fluffy: Toast Time!
#kualalumpurguide
Okay, let’s talk about this: Onion Cheese Supreme Toast. The name sounds dramatic but so is the flavor. It’s fluffy on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and filled with that satisfying cheesy-onion combo that warms your soul.
Priced at RM14.90, it’s more than just a bread slice—it’s a whole mood. If you’re not in the mood for sweet, their savory selections won’t disappoint. Definitely a solid choice for brunch or a hearty tea-time snack.

65c Ondo – Pretty, Peaceful & Packed with Flavour!
#kualalumpurguide
One of my favourite café stops in Cheras was 65c Ondo. It’s a stunning Japanese-style bakery with rows of colourful cakes, buttery pastries, and cute snacks on display. Everything looked too pretty to eat – but I still did! The chocolate roll and fruit cake were rich, fresh, and delicious.
It’s not just a place to eat – it’s an experience. The soft background music, neat layout, and charming atmosphere made me stay longer than planned. Whether you're getting takeaway or sitting in, this spot is definitely worth the visit for a quiet, sweet escape.

Dessert Wonderland Tucked in Cheras
#kualalumpurguide
If you're a dessert lover like me, you’ll fall in love with 65c Ondo in Cheras. From their soft custard tarts to the flaky croissants and fruit-filled cakes, every bite was joy. I really enjoyed their yuzu cake – light, citrusy, and refreshing!
The whole place felt so calming with warm lighting and organized shelves filled with cute packaging. They even sell a variety of premium canned treats and souvenirs, perfect for gifting. I’ll definitely come back to explore more from their bakery lineup.
Xing An Temple, Known for Its Giant 'Guan Di' Statue
Xing An Temple, is a Chinese temple tucked away in Batu 11, Cheras, near Balakong. It’s especially known for its massive golden statue of Guan Di (also called Guan Gong), the god of war who symbolizes loyalty and righteousness. The temple’s architecture features classic Chinese designs—bright colors, detailed carvings, and intricate roof work. At night, the place lights up beautifully, creating a calm and almost magical vibe that’s perfect for an evening stroll or some quiet reflection.
Right next to the temple is Tien Xia Restaurant, a popular spot for locals and visitors to grab a good Chinese meal after exploring the temple grounds. The overall area feels peaceful, and while it’s not packed with tourists, it’s definitely worth a visit if you enjoy cultural spots or traditional temples.

Have a cup of delicious coffee in a world of black & white
#celebrateit
A low-key cafe that’s tucked away on the second floor of a shoplot.
First, I have to say I really like the interior design, which features a black&white-only kinda minimalist style. Because it’s a cornet lot, the place was spacious too. My friend and I tend to sit there over coffee for an entire afternoon.
We also enjoyed the coffee. There were two kinds of bean they used for espresso, one fruity and the other chocolaty/nutty; I prefer the fruity and my friend nutty.
📍the Mechanic (Cheras)
#newyearnewtrip
After returning from an intense trip with daily walks exceeding 15,000 steps, my body was in dire need of relaxation to ease the soreness in my muscles.
I opted for the aromatherapy massage at Thai Odyssey, hoping for relief.
While the soothing scents and gentle strokes provided a calming experience, I regretted the choice as it didn’t address the deeper muscle pain.
In hindsight, the traditional Thai massage, known for its pressure techniques and stretches, would have been a better option for effective relief.
