[North Carolina Travel] Cherokee Bear Zoo - Share but not necessarily recommend 🐻🐾
Passing by the bear zoo, I thought I'd go in and take a look since I haven't seen it before. You can spend US$1 to buy food to feed the bears, including apples 🍎 toast 🍞 and lettuce 🥬. The portion is very small, so tourists can throw it down to feed the bears.
It was my first time seeing a bear up close, and I was intimidated by its size. It was quite oppressive, especially when a brown bear stood up. You definitely don’t want to encounter one in the forest. There is also a cute animal area at the back of the park, which you will pass by before leaving.
Although the bears seemed to be well taken care of, the environment was kept clean, and each area had a pool, I still felt a little sad to see them being kept in a small concrete floor and even exhibiting stereotyped behaviors. I hope they are properly accommodated.
