This is also part of three dunes challenge. There are many wooden stairs which looks nice and fascinating. It’s a easy hike but still provides much heart pumping moments. It’s a loop hike and ends at camping area and can walk back to nature center. #passionpassport To complete The 3 Dune Challenge, a person must run or hike a special 1.5 mile course at Indiana Dunes State Park, climbing Mount Jackson (elevation 176 feet), Mount Holden (184 feet), and Mount Tom (192 feet). Some parts of the trail feature 40-degree slopes, making each step that much more, well, challenging. In the sandy vertical climbs, it’s common to take two steps forward and slide one step back. This was fun and in some parts tough hike. You can see park overlook point and beaches while hiking up. Fun and good hike. Must do if you are visiting Indiana Dunes. #beautifuldestinations #passionpassport

#passionpassport At the Indiana Dunes State Park, large sand dunes, located beyond the entire shoreline, have taken thousands of years to form, and tower nearly 200 feet above Lake Michigan. Three miles of beach run along Lake Michigan’s southern shore. The park also offers 16.5 miles of trails, several that traverse Mount Tom. Enjoy everything the park has to offer with a stay at their campground.
