It was built during the Nara period, but the founding time is unclear. The founder was Fujiwara no Toramaro, a descendant of Fujiwara no Kamatari. It is said that Toramaro built a statue of Yakushi Nyorai using camellia trees and constructed the Seven Halls, thus starting this temple. According to Toramaro and Dazai Osamu, the first marshal. Legend has it that in order to treat Toramaro's daughter's illness, he went to Yakushi Nyorai for treatment and was cured by the hot spring water. This is the origin of Futsukaichi Onsen. We hopped on the JR train and got off at Futsukaichi Station. After enjoying a brief 10-minute walk, we were greeted by two public bathhouses right next to each other. The experience is quite affordable 200-300 Yen (2-3$) After the bath, you feel really good. Your body feels loose and free, like all the tightness has gone away. (Be careful, the water is really hot!
