Cochem Germany small town visit 🇩🇪
#europetrip
Cochem, Germany, is like a small town in a fairy tale, quietly immersed in the tunnel of time. Walking in the slated alleyway, it seems that you have entered the picture scroll of history. Cochem Castle towers on the winding Rhine, like a guardian, watching the ancient scenery.

Introducing Cochem Castle in Germany 🏰
It was a small castle that was very easy to see and cute.
The Moselle River flowing below was also beautiful, which made the castle look even more rustic.
There weren't many tourists, so you could enjoy sightseeing at your own pace.
Even if you don't go inside, you can enjoy just walking around the area, so please go!

Colorful late autumn: Cochem is intoxicated by the German wind and meets the most beautiful autumn scenery
The best time to enjoy Germany's autumn scenery is from the end of October to November every year. The weather is clear and pleasant, and the scenery is beautiful.
Cochem
Cochem is the capital of the Cochem-Zell County in Germany. It is both a small town and an old town, with many wooden houses and castles in medieval architectural style. The historic city of Cochem not only has a very valuable architectural heritage, but also inherits all the advantages of the Moselle River scenery: the atmosphere of the Moselle River, the beautiful scenery of the Moselle River, and the food and wine of the Moselle River. The houses in the town stretch out on both sides of the river bank, forming a beautiful view~
Cochem Castle: Ticket price 8.5 euros
The dream castle built on a hundred-meter hill overlooks the Moselle River. It has undergone many renovations and expansions over the centuries and is a representative work of German Gothic architecture. The castle's interior is richly decorated, retaining many elements of its original period while also incorporating artistic features from the late 19th century. Visitors can tour areas including the grand hall, exquisite bedrooms, and exhibition rooms displaying rich historical artifacts. You can also overlook the whole town and the Moselle River from the tower~
Senheim Wine Museum:
Germany is famous for its beer, and Cochem is surrounded by vineyards and is also a famous wine-producing town. The Senheim Wine Museum, 18 km from Cochem, is one of the largest private collections dedicated to wine.
Old Town:
The bustling Old Town features medieval squares and ornate buildings in the Moselle style, such as the Market Square (Marktplatz) with its Baroque Town Hall (Barockes Rathaus), the Martins-Brunnen Fountain (Martins-Brunnen), the Church of St. Martin (Kirche St. Martin), the former monastery (the cultural center of the Kapuzinerkloster), the old city wall with its ancient gates Enderttor, Mäusetor and Balduinstor.
Transportation:
Train: Frankfurt is about 40 kilometers away from Cochem and there is a direct train.
Car: About 1 hour drive from Frankfurt

Cochem Germany
Cochem is a beautiful small tourist town located in western Germany, about 170 kilometers from Frankfurt. The town consists of houses situated on both sides of the Moselle River. The Reichsburg Castle, an ancient fortress built on a hill, stands prominently above the town. It has become a popular tourist attraction because it offers a panoramic view of the town below. The old town is also very pleasant to walk around, featuring Half-timbered houses (constructed in the traditional style from the European Middle Ages, with a framework and beams made of hardwood such as teak, and joints secured with large wooden pegs. The exterior and interior walls are wooden, combined with brick or stone walls). Visitors can enjoy taking beautiful photos and there are also restaurants and souvenir shops for shopping.

📍Reichsburg Castle
I had a bad image of German castles, but the castle in Cochem was so cute with lots of stained glass!!! It is often called Cochem Castle, but its official name is Reichsburg Castle. You can walk there from the town of Cochem, but there seems to be a shuttle bus from Endertplatz, where the tourist information center is located. The shuttle bus is recommended because it is an old slope. The building is a guided tour. The price will increase from next year, so if you go, go early! 🔥.

We walked
We walked around Cochem, which was in a frenzy on the last day of the wine festival.
We were shown around the city on the cruise tour, but we went out to take photos before and after 📸
The green space along the river is especially nice, with a view of the castle 🫶🏻
The line drawn on the building in the third picture is apparently a record of the maximum water level during floods.
Of the several towns along the Moselle we visited this time, this one seemed particularly popular with tourists, with many things to see.

📍Cochem Wine Festival
Every year, a wine festival is held in Cochem, Germany, on the last weekend of August.
The day we went happened to be the last day!
We toasted with Sect, a German sparkling wine, that our guide told us about 🥂
If you buy an original design glass for €3, you can drink a drink for about €2.5-3.5 🤪
Everyone was ready, so we took pictures and it turned into a photo shoot, which was fun 😂

When I started planning my trip to Moselle Valley. I began researching about a good destination that can form the base. Turns out Cochem was it. This medieval town is located in the heart of the Moselle Valley. Besides being a suitable base. On it's own, Cochem offers a lovely natural landscape with its lush vineyards, riverside promenades and important historical sites like the Cochem Castle, which is undoubtedly amongst the country’s most splendid castles.
Cochem is a year round destination. However, summer is the peak travel season for Germany. Meaning the prices are higher. Another advantage of summer travel is the weather will be warm, there will be sunny days and the town will be more lively.
Cochem is also known for festivals from time to time. During my stop in August I had the first hand experience of Cochem Castle Festival. At that time the vineyard trips were fun. My main purpose of Cochem trip was a solid base for Rhine and moselle. That which it served very well.#myhiddengems #cochem #100waysoftravel #summerdestinations #flowerlover #germany #castles #europe #singapore

Cochem, located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany, is famed for its stunning medieval castle, Reichsburg Cochem, which overlooks the Moselle River. The town itself is known for its well-preserved half-timbered houses, narrow streets, and vineyards. It's a haven for tourists interested in history, wine tasting, and scenic river views.

I just finished a great visit to Cochem Castle in Germany and I'm still excited about the middle ages! 🏰✨ The six euros for entry is very cheap considering that the wonderful views and history this place brings can't be missed.
Cochem Castle is a dreamy place on the top of a hill by Moselle River. The guided tour, with its stories about brave knights and important families changed history into a big screen film. 🎥👑 The castle is a great example of old buildings from the middle ages. Views looking down on the river are so perfect they might be in your dream! #CastleDreams
The nice thing is that Cochem town itself is a special place, close walking distance from the castle. Small wooden houses, paved roads and cute stores make a feeling that's both neat and busy. 🏡💰 And if you like wine, the nearby grape farms have tastings that will make your tongue happy.
I went on a beautiful boat ride along the Moselle river, right under the castle. It was like being in a perfect picture! 🚤🍇 Also, don't forget to visit the Cochem Winery for some local wines and beautiful views of the vineyards.
In simple words, Cochem Castle is a place you should go to if you like history and romance or want an adventure that feels like a fairy tale. I'm already making plans to go back to this magical part of Germany! #CochemMagic #CastleAdventure #germany
Germany is really a beautiful and fun town. Lets recommend a small but very characteristic town today~
is a famous German wine town. Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate, about 100 kilometers from Germany, the famous city of Cologne. The whole town is surrounded by vineyards, the scenery is super beautiful ~
is small, but very delicate. The town is surrounded by the Moselle River, the second largest tributary of the Rhine. The rows of colorful huts are neatly situated on the banks of the river, like a fairy tale world, beautiful!
There is also a famous imperial castle, Reichsburg, which is one of the symbols of Cochem town, with a majestic view of the rivers and towns. An excellent representative of the German Gothic castle architecture.
In addition, from April to October each year, it can be said that Cochem Zui is a lively season, and the cultural summer of Rhineland-Pfalz begins. During this time, cultural events such as carnivals, open air events, local concerts, and wine festivals will continue. If you are a wine lover, the wine festival here is something you must not miss.
