Where to stay in Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta: Where to Stay to Be in the Heart of the Action and Enjoy a Relaxed Stay 🇮🇩
If you're traveling to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, you're likely planning to visit the Prambanan and Borobudur temples. I'm sharing my tips for choosing a hotel that will make your trip comfortable.
📍 Location
Finding a hotel in Yogyakarta that's clean, well-maintained, has beautiful grounds, is affordable, and conveniently located—not an easy task. But we found it :)
This hotel is located right in the city center, on the route between Borobudur and Prambanan. We were just moving from a hotel near Borobudur and heading toward Prambanan—the location was perfect. We also needed to go to the airport at the end of our trip, and it was also very convenient to get to it from here.
Plus, across the street from the hotel is a huge supermarket that has absolutely everything from groceries to electronics!
🌴 Grounds and Service
Even before booking, I was captivated by the photos of the green grounds, and in reality, everything turned out even better. Here you can stroll, enjoy the beauty of the garden in the evening, and sit on cozy benches. During the day, you can swim in the pool and lounge on the sun loungers.
By the way, there are enough sun loungers for all guests; no need to reserve them in the morning. The staff provides mattresses and beach towels. Despite the not-so-great weather, the pool was perfectly clean, for which I'm grateful 👌
The grounds also offer:
· a gym (I stopped in, it looks impressive—it's a shame I didn't have the energy to work out this time);
· a spa;
· table tennis, etc.
🛏 Rooms and Staff
The rooms are located on several floors. They are spacious, clean, and bright. Cleaning was done daily, and toiletries were replenished as needed.
I'd like to especially mention the staff – everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We had several minor issues during our vacation, and the hotel staff quickly helped resolve them.
🍽 Restaurant and Food
One evening, we were so tired that we decided to have dinner right at the hotel instead of looking for a restaurant in town. And we never regretted it!
The restaurant was very clean, with a beautiful interior. All the dishes were delicious, but the beef kebabs in sauce were a particular highlight. They were so juicy and delicious that my husband and I still talk about them. And the second night, we ordered them again! 😋
One evening, the restaurant was celebrating a gala, and live music played all evening. It was raining outside, but we sat in the warm, cozy dining room, enjoying the music, delicious food, and drinks. The atmosphere was simply magical 💫
💰 Prices
Another major plus – very reasonable prices. A night at the hotel cost us only 2900 rubles (about $38). This price included a buffet breakfast.
We had early excursions, so we weren't able to have a full breakfast at the hotel. However, the staff kindly packed us a to-go breakfast, so we didn't go hungry.
I definitely recommend this hotel if you're planning a trip to Yogyakarta – the location, service, cleanliness, delicious food, and reasonable prices!
