This trip was very spontaneous, which unfortunately meant that there were no tickets available at the Van Gogh Museum (I recommend booking online in advance). The main attraction I wanted to see was the Anne Frank House, one of the most historically significant sites in Amsterdam and a must-visit for tourists from around the world. This site documents the life of a Jewish girl who, during World War II, hid with her family and friends in a secret annex to escape the Nazis, writing her famous diary during this time. The original design has been preserved, allowing visitors to deeply experience the fear and loneliness they felt during that period. It was a heavy experience, but it also made us reflect on the importance of peace. :( Amsterdam is truly a city full of freedom and multiculturalism, with unique charm in every corner. A little funny [Diamond Museum] What surprised me was the skeleton decorated with diamonds. I had about 5 hours to spare, so I went to downtown Amsterdam. Among the traditional Dutch snacks, Stroopwafel, which is a waffle with caramel syrup between them, is famous. You can taste the stroopwafel on the spot at Stroopperie near Amsterdam Central Station. A basic stroopwafel costs 7 euros, and they bake the waffle as soon as you order it and pour warm caramel syrup on it. It's so sweet that it's perfect for two people to share. It's freshly baked, so the outside is crispy and the inside is filled with warm caramel, so the texture is good. Stroopperie is worth a visit during your trip to Amsterdam, as it sells not only stroopwafels but also Dutch specialties like cheese.
