Vestri, a chocolate shop on the outskirts of Arezzo
#Gourmet
Vestri is located on the outskirts of Arezzo.
They have their own farm in the Dominican Republic that does not use pesticides or chemicals, and they are particular about everything from growing cacao to making chocolate.
My goal is to try the gelato made with their carefully selected ingredients, and to bring home some chocolate for my family, who are passionate about pistachio flavor.
When I entered the shop, the locals were enjoying their gelato time at the bar, but the attached chocolate shop was empty! I had imagined a scene where an overflowing amount of chocolate would be brought all together, so I was honestly disheartened by this sight.
Perhaps they sensed my feelings, because without me realizing it, the bar staff called out to the Japanese staff and came to say hello.
After Easter, chocolate that melts easily disappears from the store. They also accept tours of the chocolate factory, and making Easter egg chocolates is very popular with children!
They showed me around the back, saying that they had some in storage.
There were things arranged like jewels, things sold by weight, tablets in various flavors such as salt, chili pepper, and cranberry, chocolate paste that is eaten with a spoon and is popular in Japan for Valentine's Day, and even granola.
This trip started with Vestri, so I regret not making a good judgment and buying in bulk.
The pistachio-flavored chocolates that they let me taste were all rich, yet melted smoothly in the mouth, and the moment they spread in my mouth was truly a mouthwatering experience.
They filled a small box with a parade of pistachio flavors.
