The Medieval City Walls of Avila
The two month trip to Spain and Portugal will be always on my mind, as it was the last trip before the world closed borders. Had a deep impression especially on Avila, a city in the rolling hill region of Castile and Leon, northwest of Madrid, Spain. It is best known for its intact medieval city walls, with 88 semicircular towers or turrets and 9 gates. The 11th century walls are two kilometres long and the town is famous as the home of Saint Teresa. The walls are beautifully illuminated at night and you can walk along the walls for superb views of the city. The Cathedral of Avila is built into the city walls. Avila is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This destination is highly recommended and is a must go, must see place if you make a trip to Spain, especially so when in Madrid.
Two cities, one epic day: Ávila’s walls and Segovia’s fairy-tale charm 🏰🧱
Ávila and Segovia are two historic gems near Madrid, each bursting with charm and centuries-old stories. Ávila stuns with its perfectly preserved medieval walls and spiritual legacy, while Segovia enchants with its iconic Roman aqueduct, fairy-tale Alcázar, and mouthwatering cuisine. Together, they offer a perfect blend of history, architecture, and Spanish tradition — all in one unforgettable day trip.

Don't just go to Toledo and Segovia, Avila is also wonderful~
I'm going back to Madrid and writing today's travel notes on 🚅 [Onlooker] The ancient city of Avila is also very nice, not far from Madrid, it's worth a visit [Cute]
1. Transportation: You can buy tickets on omio, about an hour and 40 minutes, the departure station is Principe Pio (Prince Pio Station), I live next to Sol and it's very convenient to come here, the subway is next to the train station. If you can't find it, you can ask the staff in the subway. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : There are many viewing platforms on the city wall, which overlook the entire town [Doge]
4. There is a sightseeing train at the entrance (the second to last picture), which covers several famous attractions in the town. You cannot get on and off freely during the journey (I specifically asked [Facepalm])
5. Food. There are many restaurants inside the city wall. I ate at Tres Siglos, which has a set meal. It costs 20 euros per person and I can't finish it [NosePick] The overall price of the town is not high, and there are not many tourists. There are no crowded places. I almost didn't see old Chinese and Korean people. This city wall is not suitable for group tourists [Facepalm]

Spain Westward Journey ~ Salamanca (Region)
Also known as the Prince's Palace or the Altares Palace, it has a series of elements and spaces of outstanding artistic value, such as the façade with its carved coat of arms and the Gothic-Renaissance doorway framed by a large wedge.
From the inside, the courtyard is a brilliant example of plate-style architecture and sculpture. It has two levels of arcades and also has carved coats of arms next to the parapet. Also of interest is the church, which once housed an elaborately carved image of Calvary by Juan de Juni, now preserved in the Sculpture Museum in Valladolid.
In addition to the Spanish-Portuguese Centre, the Palace serves as a venue for numerous exhibitions, conferences and cultural events.

Avila, an ancient city hidden in the Castile and Leon regions of central Spain, is a microcosm of medieval Europe.
The Avila Walls surround the old city, which is the best-preserved city in Spain and a good place for a walk. The majestic stone wall was built to defend the city from attack, with an average height of 12 meters. There are nine gates that can take you into the city. If you want to stroll around the city walls, you can start from Carmen Gate.

#MayTravelSupportEvent
I really wanted to go on the day of the bullfight, but I had to go on Sunday during that season, so I was only satisfied with the visit
There isn't much to see, and it's a place where you have to be satisfied with the meaning of going to the bullfighting ring
If you have time, visit, otherwise, it seems like you can just pass by
It's good to just take a quick look at the entrance (where they sell tickets and souvenirs)
